Do you know what it's like to be bullied? I do. I was bullied in Falcon Ridge from 2nd grade to 5th grade. And it was not fun, The girl who bullied me was named Kendra Menden. Almost everyday she would say something snobby to me. She had long red hair, greyish blue eyes, she was really popular, and she was beautiful....on the outside.... why did it stop in 5th grade though? Let me tell you....
It was just a normal day at school and we were learning about ireland. Then teacher asked "are any of you irish or part irish?" so I raised my hand, so did Kendra. She glared at me. I just looked away.
Later on in the day during recess I was just sitting on a swing minding my own business when kendra walked up to me then said,
"You're not irish! don't lie! You don't even have red hair!"
"Well...i'm half irish..." I said back
She rolled her eyes and said, "Sure...you'r such a lier! you're so pathetic!"
Then she walk off all sassy like.
The next day I saw Kendra and Maddie josephson, who had long brown hair, glasses, and was a bit mean. She wasn't mean all the time it was mostly when she was with other mean kids. She was also really popular. They were glaring at me. Kendra turned in her seat and whispered something to Maddie. They both started giggling. Kendra took a quick glance at me, smirked then started talking to Maddie again. The teacher saw her talking with her friend and said to her,
" Kendra? Would you like to teach the class?"
she looked at her blushing with embarrassment and giggling nervously and responded
"no.."
"Then please pay attention."
Kendra looked down and pretended to write something in her notebook.
During recess I was hanging out with my boyfriend Dylan Oster. He had greenish brown eyes, short curly dirty blond hair, and was semi popular. We were swinging and laughing making stupid jokes, but when one of his friends walked over, Memphis Connelly who had straight short blond hair and was also semi popular, Dylan said that he was gonna go hang out with him.
So I was left alone...And of course not long after Kendra saw me. She put her middle finger up and turned around and acted like nothing happened. That's when something inside me snapped. I grinded my teeth and my face felt hot. I stormed over to where kendra and a bunch of her friends were playing jump rope and said to her,
"You know what Kendra?! Just because I don't have red hair doesn't mean i'm not irish! And Just because I act like myself doesn't make me dumb or a loser! Everybody is different! No one is perfect! Not even you! So just stop and leave me alone! Okay?!"
All her friends covered their mouths and said "Ooooh" but Kendra just ignored them and rolled her eyes. The the whistle blew and it was time to go inside. She ran off to go inside. She never talked to me again.
Kendra and I are in 8th grade Now and she still doesn't talk to me, i'm actually pretty happy that all this happened because now I know how to stand up for myself and my friends. So if you're ever being bullied just remember to stand tall and not let anyone bring you down.
