I slowly walk downstairs to see what had made the huge ruckus. I can feel my heart beating loudly in my chest, I am only armed with a cricket bat that I picked up from my brother's room. Trying to not sound scared, I yell out,

"Who's there?" No answer is given. As I near the bottom of the steps I grasp the handle of the bat as tightly as I can. I gripped so tight my knuckles begin to turn white. I take in a really deep breath then count to three in my head.

'1, 2, 3!' I leap out from the bottom step into the lounge room, landing hard on my bunny slippers. At first the room seems empty. All I can hear is the pounding of my heart. Then suddenly, I hear a rustle coming from the kitchen. I slowly begin to creep as quietly as I can towards the pantry. I am holding my breath trying not to make a sound. The floor boards are creaking under my feet as I take each step. As I near the pantry door I hesitantly reach out to grab the handle of the door. I am millimeters away from the handle when the door bursts open and a miniature creature, only a meter-tall lunges out at me.

He was a very gruesome creature. Almost completely black with patches of grey scales all around his body. Spikes sticking up out of his back. His face very angular. He was like a rabid echidna. I tripped over in fright from him suddenly lunging out at me. As I began to get up I am knock back down again by the vicious creature. He growled and showed his filthy, pointy teeth. He was creeping forward towards me, his long, pointy tail rubbed against my leg, a shudder went down my spine as his slimy skin rubbed up against me. Just as he was about to make his move and pounce, he is suddenly hit by a cricket bat, and flung back out of the broken window from where he entered. I sigh in relief and catch my breath. Suddenly I realise that if I didn't hit the creature with the bat, then who did? As I cautiously begin to sit up I see a faint figure of a young man standing in the corner of the room. I go to give a yelp but before I could, the mysterious figure whispers,

"Please don't scream, I am here to help you," He paused for a moment then continued, "you are in grave danger." I am not sure if I should trust this stranger, I don't even know his name yet. However, his voice is so soothing that it makes me feel as if I have known him for ever. I slowly stand up and I began to ask,

"Who are you?" He didn't answer straight away, but after a minute of awkward silence he then replied, "My name is Seth, I have been sent to help you Lucy, I am your protector."

I don't know what to say. I feel just like this is a crazy dream. After I try to take this in, I realise,

"How do you know my name?"

After several seconds he explains, "We've been watching you." I am shocked.

"Who's we?"

He takes a big breath in and says,

"The Enchanters, they are a group of people with magical properties. Lucy, you are an Enchanter." I look at him and he seems as if he is telling the truth, but it all seems like a story, a load of nonsense. None of this makes any sense,

"How can I be an Enchanter; I am just an ordinary 16-year-old girl? What are you then? What do you want? What..."

Before I could finish Seth cuts me off and exclaims,

"I will explain everything later, for now we have to get out of here, more of those demons will come soon."

He grabs my hand and before I can say anything we run out the front door and we jump in his car and speed of down the road. He doesn't stop until we reached this scary, dark and downright creepy warehouse. Seth gets out of the car and just as I go to get out of the car as well, a flash of light appears and Seth is throw across the road.
