Okay guys. Don't judge too harshly because this is my first story. It is also the writers workshop so I had a certain amount of time and it might not be the best story ever. Beyond that... Enjoy!!
She stood in the middle of the street, tears streaming from her eyes. Amazed that she could still cry, she wiped them from her face. Mascara was streaked across her cheeks. She stood right there, in the street, watching him paint the words on the wall, but he couldn't see her. Riley had died in a car wreck about two months ago. Since then, she had been drifting aimlessly through the folds of the small rural area where she had lived. Everything that she had once lived for was gone. She was popular. She had a lot of good friends. She had amazing parents. She had had so much to live for, but now all of that had been stripped away to leave the hollow shell of the girl she once was.
She had a boyfriend. Andrew. She had loved him so much. They had even started to make plans to get engaged soon, though they were still barely twenty years old. Now she was forced to watch as he delivered a final heartbreaking speech at her funeral, the last one before she watched her own body get buried. Then he walked away as tears filled his eyes and buried his face in his mother's midnight blouse. She was so confused. What was happening? How is this even possible? She didn't believe in ghosts. How could you be something you don't even believe in? Riley had flown away, unable to stand the sorrow that thickened the air. She soared as high as she could to escape the sadness, but it followed her. Then she realized it was coming from herself. She landed on a nearby tree branch to drown in her own misery. She recalled these images now and a fresh wave of tears poured down her face as she watched Andrew spray paint words on a wall in the alleyway where they had first met:
