Romeo ✞ Juliet

--

Together they held a loving gaze,

A moment they set ablaze,

Romeo touching her fragile hand,

And dearest Juliet's heart,

That could barely stand.

The both starstruck,

But out of luck,

Both children of ancient enemies,

Scared to do as they pleased,

But both were still determined,

For each name their hearts screamed.

And Romeo wished to marry,

And to have his name be carried,

And Juliet thought the same,

For if she didn't,

It would be shamed.

But that wealthy man,

With his selfish plans,

Gave his daughter away,

And the real tragedy began.

Oh poor, Romeo,

Who didn't get the message,

Juliet laid lifeless,

And Romeo suffered at her highness.

So with that,

He drank the tasteless poison,

His sadness sank,

And his destiny was chosen,

And poor, Juliet,

Who desired to be rescued,

Only saw her love dead,

And that was an issue.

So she took that dagger,

And pointed its end to her heart,

Wanting to be with her dear Romeo,

Their love an endless art.
