I was walking down the street to my house when all of a sudden I heard footsteps behind me. My neighborhood was never that great, nor was it a popular area. There were only a few houses and mostly woods. I looked behind me and saw nothing. I then ran towards the trees and hid myself. I climbed up a tree with my book bag hanging from my back. As I was climbing I noticed a weird shadow coming from behind me. My foot then slipped but I regained my balance.  My heart was racing and I felt a strange feeling. I ignored it and kept climbing until I finally reached the top. I sat on a strong branch and looked around, thinking that if someone was following me I would be able to catch a glimpse of who it was. Then all of a sudden I fell off the tree and my body ached when I hit the ground. I sprained an ankle and broke my wrist. Crap, I thought. What am I gonna do now? Then I saw him. A guy with a dark hoodie standing over me. I screamed and that was the last thing I remembered before everything turned pitch black.

I woke up in a dark room and my body was aching. I tried pushing myself up and immediately regretted it, feeling a sharp pain in my wrist and ankle. I looked down at them and saw that they were bandaged. What? Who did this? I don't recall.. Suddenly I remembered about the man with the dark hoodie. "HELP! SOMEBODY HELP ME!" I screamed loudly, hoping someone would hear me. "You know, you shouldn't do that. Nobody can hear you," a voice said with a hint of laughter. I felt my stomach turn, "Who are you? Why are you doing this?!" I said frantically. He pulled his hood down revealing a guy in his mid-twenties. He had a sharp jaw and blue eyes with brown hair. He was almost handsome, except for the long scar along his cheek. I've never seen him in my life except for this instant. I blushed and looked away. Why would I even think he's handsome? He kidnapped me. He began to walk towards me, and I got that strange feeling again. He stared into my eyes and I felt a pain in my chest. I gasped, "W-what are you doing?" He didn't say anything but kept staring and I was starting to feel weak, but he looked away. I felt a wave of relief and the pain disappeared.  "Alexandra?", I turned at the sound of my name. That was the first time I've heard someone say my real name in years. I usually go by Alex. "Don't be afraid. I'll keep you safe," he said looking into my eyes again, this time softly. The strange feeling was strong. I suddenly realized something, "Do you have...powers?" He turned around and left, locking the door behind him.
