I saw him staring at me today - I swear! Well, maybe not.
Andrew Harrison is totally the cutest boy in school. I don't care what other girls say. The way he pushes up the over sized glasses on his face and how you can never see his hands because his sweaters are too big for him...
But the only problem is, he's popular.
You see, nerds like me and popular boys just don't mix. It's like a sin if a popular boy dates one of the losers like us. It sounds cliche, but our school is completely divided between losers and cool kids. There's no in between. I know he could never love me, but it's always nice to think about what it would be like to be popular.
I would hang out with my popular friends and do popular stuff, like... whatever they do.
I forgot to introduce myself! I'm Amanda Layne, but a lot of my friends call me Mandy. My best friend is Cara Baxter, and she's so smart. She makes all sorts of tables and diagrams for me... she even made a statistical probability chart of the chances of me ever dating Andrew. The chart didn't give me much hope, but she's still such a great friend.
Andrew has black hair and paper white skin. He has freckles running across the bridge of his nose - which is a blush pink kind of color. You can't miss him.
I closed my locker, which is located within four feet of one of the most popular girls in school's locker. Her name is Lydia Carter, and I know for a fact that she likes Andrew. She'll never let me have him...
I power walked through the hall, purposefully avoiding Lydia and her pack of best friends with super high ponytails, curled hair and expensive makeup. I don't need them to pull my hair or steal my phone again today. I basically ran to English, while also avoiding being caught running by teachers.

RomanceAmanda Layne is a socially awkward high-schooler. She's always had a crush on this one boy in her grade but she's always been too afraid to talk to him. Sure, he was "popular" but that didn't stop her. She makes every effort to be around him without...
