It was three o clock in the am. I couldn't sleep. Too much has happened and too much was on my mind for me to sleep. I was laying there on my bed staring at my ceiling when there was a thud that came from the far corner of my room. I looked up but i didn't see anything because the light was off and it was extremely dark. I turned on my phone flashlight and shone it on the corner but there was nothing there. I turned the light on and went back to my reminiscing. The thud came again and this time i got out of bed and turned the light of my room on. This time when i looked to the corner there was a little girl sitting there. Her knees were hugged to her chest secured by her arms and she sat there and stared at me. I wasn't scared. I figured that after all that had happened to me this was not surprising at all. If she was a demon and was going to posses me or something i was sure she would have done it already.
Although i wasn't scared i was however curious. I mean why was she here. Why isn't she possessing me. I stood there staring at her for a good three and a half minutes before i finally said something. "Who are you?" I asked. I waited for an answer but the girl just watched me. "Why are you here?" I questioned after a few minutes. Again, the girl just stared at me. "How old are you?" She didn't say a word. She just watched me with sad eyes. It was as if she was asking me to help her with the look in her eyes.
She was pleading me to fix her. To get rid of her pain.
I sat there next to her. I couldn't help but cry. "I'm sorry. I cant help you. I cant even help myself. So much messed up stuff has happened to me. I cant even stop myself from getting hurt. I feel all this pain inside and i don't know how to get rid of it. I have tried and tried to fix it and to feel better but i cant. Its all eating away at my soul and slowly i have been disappearing. Eventually i will be completely gone. There will be nothing left. I am a mess and i can't do anything for you. You are better off anywhere else. Just go. Find someone who isn't a natural disaster waiting to happen. I have never said any of this out loud before. I just don't want to push my burdens on everyone else." The little girl stood up and took my hands. She pulled me off the ground and without a word she pulled me to my bed and sat me down. She looked me deep in the eyes but unlike before her eyes were not pained they weren't begging for help. She started into my soul and said to me, "you are not a burden. You hold your head up high and tell yourself that you are okay. You can get through this and you will get through this because you are strong. All you got to do is do it. Don't let us down." She let go of my hand and walked out my bedroom door. "Stay strong" she said. I ran to the door but it was too late. She was gone. I laid down on my bed and closed my eyes. I cried and cried for i'm not sure how long. It was then that i realized, i knew that girl. I ran to my desk and grabbed an old photo album. There was my favorite picture. The picture of me at my happiest moment. When i was six years old and i received an award at school. That day i was literally pushed to the ground by bullies and teased. The bullies left and i picked myself off the ground and walked on stage. My hair was a mess, my clothes all ripped. I have dirt on my face and multiple scratches from hitting the ground. I looked a complete mess but i told myself to be strong. And now i know that i'm in the same place. Life has bullied me and threw me to the ground. Now all i have to do is get back up. Because I am strong and i can get through this.
