Chapter 6: Wheelchair and Getting ready for the Birthday Ball

Start from the beginning

Kenna grabs the hairbrush that's on my nightstand and hands it to me. "Thank you, Kenna," I say and she nods. I begin brushing my hair, while Lola and Greer talk to me and Kenna, while they pick out my outfit for tonight. "So, did you and Francis do it?" Lola asks. "Yes, and I'm hoping for a little royal to come," I say and Kenna look at me with a big smile on her face, as she plays with my hair. "I just wish I could remember what happened to me that has gotten me paralyzed and stuck in that wheelchair for the rest of my life," I say, with a big sigh.

"Mary, don't think like that. This must be God's plan for you." they all say to me, I just nod. "Miss, your bath is ready." one of the maids say, then curtsies and they leave the room. "I'll go get Francis," Kenna says, then leaves the room. She comes back with Francis behind her. He comes up to me and gently picks me up and carries me to the bathroom.

When we enter the bathroom, I see something like my wheelchair in the tub. "What is that Francis?" I ask. "It's a bath chair. It's to help you in the bath, so you don't drown," he tells me, and I just nod. He gently sits me in the chair and the water feels nice on the top part of my body.

I see a buckle strap and he buckles me in.

Francis starts to help wash my body, but when he gets to the scar, I quickly try to cover it up with my arms. "Mary, it doesn't bother me that this scar is there. It means you survived the worst," he tells me and I just nod. I have no clue what he's talking about. But I let him clean it anyway. After he washed my hair, he unbuckled me and picked me up, then, wrapped me in a towel. After, he carried me back to the bed, where my ladies were waiting for me. Then, left the room, after kissing me on the cheek.

Kenna starts to dry my hair, while Lola drys my body. After, Greer slips on my underwear, while Lola puts on my corset. "Now, let's get your dress on!" Greer says, excited. She brings out a beautiful light pink gown with gold designs on it.
