I paced back and forth in my room , running my hand through my hair. I looked at myself in my mirror for probably the 12 millionth time this morning, analyzing my appearance. I decided to wear a bright yellow sundress and cowboy boots, trying to look cute but not too cute. My curly chestnut brown hair that was once all neat and orderly, considering I spent hours brushing it, was now a disheveled nest on my head because of my constant hand-combing. I attempted to pat it down, but as expected, that didn't work. Sighing, I decided to just put it up in a pony tail.
I was beyond nervous. My hands were  trembling and my bright green eyes filled with nervousness. I knew I had to try to fit in, but my quirky personality and looks tend to get on people's nerves.
The shrill voice of my sister, Jessica, calling me downstairs waking me from my trance. I quickly grabbed by bag, looked at myself in the mirror one last time, telling myself a bunch of motivational bullshit, before running downstairs. My sister was already by the door, preparing to leave, when I come downstairs. Jessica is what many people would call a bitch. Her hair was styled to perfection, her tight shirt and short skirt made her look like a slut, and her crazy choice of accessories made her seem like a rich whore. Though we were twins, we were nothing alike.
"We're leaving now. Ashley's already at school, so skip breakfast. You're fat enough anyways," Jessica comment while texting on her phone. Ashley's was Jessica's equally whore-ish best friend. They were the popular girls, as many would call it. I, on the other hand, was the homeschooled freak with ADHD, but it never bothered me. I was happy in my own little world.
Anyways, I ignored Jessica's insult and walked right out the door. I wasn't hungry anyways. I sat in the back seat on the car to avoid any further conversation.

The ride to school was fairly normal. Jessica listened to her crappy music while I listened to mine. Once we arrived, Jessica sprang out of the car and made her way over to her friends, while quickly telling me to lock the car behind me. I, unfortunately, had never used a car before so I had no clue what to do. After pressing some buttons, I decided to give up. I slipped out of the car and looked at the huge school in front of me. Crossridge High. I so was not ready for this.

I made my way to the office to get my schedule. Thankfully, it was at the front of the school so it didn't take to long. When I opened the door, a slight jingling noise rang through the room, and the lady at the front desk looked up.

"Hi, how may I help you?" She asked in a kind voice.

"I'm here to collect my schedule. I'm new." She did some typing and clicking and more typing on her computer and then left the room. I stood there, awkwardly picking ag my nails, not knowing what to do. When she came back, she handed me a file.

"Your schedule should be in there, along with your locker information and a map, of the school, but trust me, that map is no use. The school is much too large. Anyways, welcome to Crossridge High." I quickly thanked her and scampered out of the office. I didn't want to get stuck in the traffic of students. Deciding to search for my locker after class, I look at my schedule.
Dammit, I had calculus first. Room 304. I opened the map, quickly scanning the pages in search of room 304. I didn't look ahead and I slammed into someone in front of me, dropping all my things on the floor. I quickly grabbed my things, mumbling a quick apology, trying to get out as quickly as possible. As I was about to leave, the person grabbed my wrist.
I turn to look at who it was and I was quite taken aback. A guy, no a man giant, towering over my small 5'3 height, looked down at me. His dark brown hair was messy in like a super sexy way, his large glasses gave off a cute nerdy guy vibe, and his dark brown eyes stared at me curiously.
"It doesn't seem like I've met you before? I'm Adam. You are..."
"Andy. Andy Lawson," I imitated James Bond. Adam looked at me for a moment and then burst out laughing.
"You're too cute."
I didn't know what to say, so I just nodded awkwardly. We stayed like that for a moment, when the loud noise of the bell startled us and broke the silence.
"Do you know where room 304 is.?" I asked.
"Yeah, second floor, room to the left of the water fountain."
"Thanks." As I scampered away, I heard him yell behind me.
"I'll look for you during lunch."
I smiled as I walked away. Maybe public school won't be that bad.
