Ok sorry when I wrote the first chapter I was half asleep and and no idea what I was doing that’s why the Epilog and chapter one are on the same page. And also sorry for not posting another chapter for about 4 months. I was like “I’m to lazy to get up and get my laptop so they will just have to wait to read the next chapter.” Hehe anyways I’ll try to post every week at some point and if I don’t well… I’m either to lazy or cant be bother or I have BAD WRITERS BLOCK. And also if you have read Soul Mate I’ll be updating that soon. When I have an idea what the next chapter should be about. Anyways enjoy this chapter…

Katherine P.O.V

Chapter two!

Was I really falling for the man I have despised for eleven years? When I was six my parents told me I was going to marry a prince.

*Flasback*

“Katherine, your father and I want to talk to you about something.”

“Ok mama.”

“When you become of age you are going to have to marry. The king’s son was born a year before you. He still needed someone to be betrothed to his son, since we are close friends with the King and Queen we suggested you.”

My eyes started to water I didn’t want to be married. I felt my mother pull me closer to her. I pushed her away and ran out the door. I didn’t stop running until I had made it to the servant’s quarters. I burst into James the butler and my favorite servant and best friend.) room where he was writing something down. He looked up and said

“My lady?”

“James, I am running away and I wanted to know if I could have some of the silver?”

“My lady I’m sure your father wouldn’t like it if all of a sudden his silver went missing. But I will give you five shillings for the town.”

He handed me over five shillings. I smiled at him and bounded out of the door with all traces of tears in my eyes gone. Later that day I bought some candy then walked home.

*End of flash back*

I smiled to myself not sure where I was then someone beside me cleared his thought. Oh yes I remember sadly. I was with Prince William.

“Oh sorry your Majesty. You where saying?”

“Please call me William. And I was saying how we should turn back because there seems to be a storm rolling in.”

“Oh,yes of course your majes- William.”

I said with a slight blush on my cheeks. Nonon what are you doing no blushing no calling him William. You don’t want to marry this man remember? He reached his arm out, I looked at it for a second before I took it with a guilty look on my face. We walked into the grand hall. The door man opened the door for us to enter into the dinning room. Announcing

“Prince William and Lady Sutherland.”

Oh god hopefully next time I see this doorman it wont be Princess Sutherland and Prince William. I took a seat beside my father and William walked over to the other side of my father sitting down. He smiled at me when he sat down I almost rolled my eyes. But decided to smile back.

“I trust you have become friends with William lady Katherine?”

“Oh, yes I have changed my mind about him completely you have raised a very well mannered gentleman.”

I said almost throwing up in my soup. Well I mean I really could throw up in it I’m sure no one would notice it already looks like throw up. But instead I shifted my gaze from the throw up soup to my mother sitting with the queen. She nodded slightly telling me that I had said the right thing. The rest of the dinner went well I didn't talk to the Prince for the rest of dinner and I didn't throw up in my soup. Would have been the highlight of my day if I had though. At the end of dinner the King got up and asked my father to talk about some plans in his study. While the queen and my mother went off and walked around the palace. And so there was just William and I.

“Well Lady Katherine, shall we explore the palace?”

“There wouldn't be much exploring for you would there you live her so you know every nook and cranny.”

“I shall take that as a “what a wonderful Idea William.”

Smirking at him I put my napkin to the left of me and stood up. William offered his arm again but instead of taking it this time I walked into the drawing room. I know that if I do take his hand I will just fall for him and I don't even know William. I thought while staring into the fire.

William walked up to me and said

“As much fun as looking into a fire may be for you there are more exciting things like secret passageways.”

I smiled to myself. My brain was yelling at me How bad can he be? Just give him a try if he hurts you then go back to being your own stuck up self.

Would you look at that even my mind is against me about William. Turning around I smiled at William and locked my arm around his, to his surprise.

“Will you show me these secret passages?”

I could see a little twitch pulling at the side of his lips as he replied

“Of course my lady.”

“Katherine please call me Katherine.”

King P.O.V

“Duke Laurence, What do you think about the betrothal with William and Katherine?”

“I think that it is a good and healthy opportunity for both William and Katherine. Katherine has many qualities of my wife as well as myself she would make a fine wife for any gentleman but a exquisite wife for a Prince.”

“And what does Katherine think about it?”

“Katherine thinks that the Passimore family is much like the French king and His son. She believes that William will have many mistresses sleep with the maids and never truly love her. She doesn't want power she wants to have a Husband who will just love her.”

“I understand, but there is no way that I can call off the engagement it’s to late now.”

“Have you ever asked William if he loves anyone or if he has someone he wans to marry? Why make him marry someone who he doesn't want to marry?”

“Because I already know who he loves with all his heart and I know who he wants to marry. Have you asked Katherine if she loves anyone?”

But just at that moment before Laurence could answer Charles walked into the room.

“Pardon me your majesty and Duke but there is a letter for you from the front.”

I took the letter and opened it right away. I read:

Your majesty,

We need more men at the battle field the French have more soldiers then where expected. Could you send 25,000 more included prisoner’s and men over the age of 20.

General Francis Drake.

“Well Laurence we are going to war.”

“But your majesty you cant go to war you're the King of England.”

“And England is my country and I will do everything to keep the people in England safe. Even If that means going to war and dying I will have done it for England.”

“Thank you Charles Please get the Queen and Lady Jane William and Lady Katherine to come to the study.”

“Right away your majesty.”

He said with a bow and scurried out of the room.
