Preface
It started with a ring. An engagement ring. It's crazy to think I will be married at 17 but, who cares?! Not me! It was so sweet how he proposed to me. We were at my favorite coffee place and he bought me my favorite. A scorching hot white chocolate cappuccino. We were outside and the wind was blowing my long black hair. The sun warmed my body on that spring day. School was out and I didn't have a care in the world. We sat at a two seater table and just talked.
"Do you like your coffee?" He asked.
I continued to sip on it and nod.
"It's perfect!" I said.
I closed my eyes and took another sip. I was savoring the moment. I opened my eyes and he was on the ground on one knee.
"Vanessa Abigail Blealock. I have loved you for a very long time. and I was wondering if......" He reached for his back pocket and pulled out a black leather box. "you would do the honor of marrying me?"
"Oh Connor! Yes! I will. I will marry you!" I quickly slipped the ring on my finger and hugged him, not realizing what I committed myself to.
Connor was 21. He was a gifted student at Honward High school. Now he's enrolled in the military. Now thinking about it I don't know how this is going to work, but if it's meant to be. Then so be it..... Only the future isn't what I wanted.....
