chapter 1

Savannah hope McKinley daughter of three to Adelyn parker and Ryan McKinley, both of whom were high school sweethearts that divorced exactly two years and four months ago. Sadly, this is how I am known to many where I used to live until today. Today is the day my mum, me and my two bratty younger siblings pack our bags and move to a completely new town who knows how many miles away. The place I am promised a new start without everyone knowing everything about me and what happened with my parents. The only downside a two-hour car ride with thing one and thing two.

Somehow, I manged to survive those two hours of hell. To arrive at a cute family sized house in on a very large estate with multiple children who are many years younger than me. Form what I have seen there are zero people around my age that live remotely close and I'm going to walk for a while to get to anyone I happen to make friends with at school or die of boredom. Of course, thing one who claims to be my younger sister Sophie who is four years younger than me which makes her the terrible age of thirteen is trying to claim the bedroom I was already promised months before we moved here, and thing two who also claims to be my ten-year-old brother Elliot is doing something that I couldn't care less about. After finally bribing them both out of my room I can finally unpack as all my future was pre- built before we got here.

Shortly after I finished there was a knock at the door. I ran down stairs to get it so mum could continue to fix every small issue she could find with everything's placement. There were two teenagers stood at the door smiling thankfully they both looked around my age so death by boredom was less of an option. I smiled back waiting for one of them to say something.

"hey I'm Payton I live across the street and to the left, and this is louis he lives next-door on the right. We noticed you and your family move in and thought we would come around and introduce ourselves so you would at least know someone before school tomorrow" said a girl with long golden blonde hair thrown up into a messy pony tail who clearly knew what she was doing when it came to make up.

"oh, I'm savannah thanks for coming to introduce yourselves I was worried that there was no one my age around here well at least I think you're my age what year are you both in? "I responded.

"we are both in our last year of high school and personally I'm ready to leave and get on with my own live and hopefully get away from here" she replied before the boy I think was called louis could answer "well anyways once you have settled in a bit if you want to come hang out with us and the other boys we should be at the park down the road if not just come knock on my door, so see ya later".

"yeah what she said "said louis "see you around".

"bye".

I closed the door lightly then turned around only to have a heart attack. My mum was stood in the hall behind me without me ever realising.

"he was alright looking now wasn't he" said my mum smirking at me.

"mum! I don't even know the guy for all I know he could be a dick... I mean full of himself".

"that's better, he might not be though you should go hang out with them they seem like nice kids and then you have friends for school tomorrow" she said.

"but I thought you said you wanted me to help Elliot unpack his stuff so he doesn't get distracted by every toy he takes out of every box" I stated remembering our convocation in the car here.

"don't worry about him I'll sort it out go have fun".

I ran upstairs to grab my phone and my jacket off of my bed before throwing on while trying not to fall down the stairs in the process. I shouted bye to everyone before heading out the door. Now I just had to try find the park without getting lost, which was easier said than done. I started walking in the direction that Payton pointed in when she told me. The road seemed a lot longer than I thought. Finally, I came across a big park with a football pitch, that had six teenagers running around it two of which I luckily recognized. I took a deep breath before walking over to them all.
