Cassidy "Cassie" Matthews woke up. She looked at the calendar on the wall. The day was circled. It was finally here! After months of communicating with her pen pal, she was taking a chance and going to visit him for one week.
"Cassie" walked downstairs after she finished packing. Then she finished getting ready to start the day. She walked into the living room and saw her mother. Her mother was making breakfast after cleaning the house. "Cassie" plopped down into a nearby seat. Her mother grabbed the plates and placed them on the table. She sat down and nervously ate.
"Where are you going?" her mother asked.
"Sighisoara, Romania," she swore she had repeated this more than she wanted.
"Where is that?" her mother's eyebrows rose.
"It's a city in Romania," "Cassie" said.
"Romania?" her mother gasped.
They sat there for a second. Seriously, Mom, I told you this every day since we decided this. I love that you're so worried. I get it. She grabbed her mothers hands and gripped them.
"Yes," she sighed.
"Where are you staying?" her mother asked.
"He's letting me stay with him and his family," she explained.
"Oh," her mother said.
"Cassie" and her mother got into the car after breakfast.
"Are you excited?" her mother asked.
"Nervous too," she admitted.
"I bet," her mother said.
"What's he like?" her mother asked.
"He seems like a gentleman; he's compassionate and pretty easy to stare at!" she flushed.
"Aww!" her mother looked at her daughter then back at the road. I better not get too excited.
"Promise me you'll be safe and responsible," her mother said.
"Of course; I'll Skype and write and maybe you can come but at another time," she smiled.
"Thank you; it would definitely ease my mind," her mother said.
"I understand; I'm you're baby but you have to let me fly," the car stopped.
"Yes," her mother got out of the car.
She walked with her bags and soon her mother disappeared.
Alan ran through the door. It was a cold, normal day.
"Alan, sa va relaxati," his mother sat him down.
"Manance," she placed porridge in front of him.
"Engleza va rugam sa aveti novoei pentru a practica pentru Cassidy," he begged.
"Of course," his mother smiled.
"Eat," she grabbed a bowl and sat down.
After eating, Alan grabbed his keys.
"Condu in siguranta," she waved.
He got in the car.
His mother walked inside.
Alan was on the road. I can't believe she's on her way. He parked and got a scrapbook. "For her memories," he placed it in the passenger seat. "I'm actually going to be on time," he said. She actually on her way.
