Juvia threw the amulet to Natsu just as she was thrown to the ground by a mass of dark energy. "JUVIA!!!!!" Lucy cried with all her energy and Juvia gave her a weak smile. Her heart pounded inside her chest. Her shadow's sweaty fingers reached for her keys. "Open, gate of the lion, Loki!"
Loki appeared in a cloud of magical energy. "Alright, beautiful?" He asked, smirking. "Not now," she growled as Loki turned around, surprised by what he saw. "Lucy, what's Natsu doing?"
"Huh?"She opened her eyes. Natsu was dangling over a massive pit. This fall would kill anyone, even a god-slayer. Natsu was drowning in a pool of sweat and his hands were slowly slipping, adrenaline pumping through his body.
*Gasp*
"NATSUUU!" Lucy ran over to Natsu, her legs aching and face stained with tears. "Hey, Lucy!"Natsu half-laughed.
"Natsu..." She whispered. She extended a hand for which Natsu to use to haul himself up.
Suddenly, a ball of electricity came hurtling towards him. As both Lucy and Natsu's eyes widened he fell down into the hole slowly plunging,plunging plunging down.... He thought of everything he never said. He thought of everyone he loved. He thought about Lucy and how her smile made him the happiest person in the world....
A hand took his.
"Natsu, I will NOT let you die" Lucy said through gritted teeth. She pulled him up and looked in his eyes. "You thought you were getting away with dying?" Lucy chuckled. "I should have known, after all, it's you we're talking about here," Natsu laughed. And they kissed just like that, emotion flooding through both of them.
