*Indigo POV*
Today was the day. The first day of junior year. Things were going to be different this year, I could feel it. There was talk in the town of a new family moving in, and as far as I knew, they were moving in next to my best friend, Rebekkah Stevens. Oh, I forgot to mention, my name is Summers. Indigo Llilith Summers. Stupid middle name, I know.
"Honey! Grayson's here to pick you up! You can't be late on the first day!" My mom yelled from the kitchen.
"Okay!" I replied as I checked my outfit one last time. To not look like a total loser, I put on the stereotypical black leggings and a tight maroon long sleeved shirt that hugged all my curves in the right places. I blossomed over the summer, so I looked way better than last year. I quickly ran downstairs and grabbed my backpack and keys. I took an apple for breakfast and dashed out the door and hopped on the back of Grayson's black motorbike. He took off his helmet and handed it to me, saying,
"Here, you wear this. Safety first."
"But then you won't have helmet," I reasoned.
"I trust myself to not fall off more than I trust you," he teased snarling with a wink. I rolled my eyes and put on the helmet.
"But my hair will get messed up."
"You look great no matter what happens to you. Now hold on tight." I wrapped my arms around his strong torso, feeling the fresh abs that weren't there before the past summer. Unfortunately, we got to school and we were bombarded by a flood of returning students and gross freshmen. I was searching for a familiar fiery red head within the crowd, but she found me first.
"Indie!" she exclaimed as she jumped on me. "Nice boobs."
"I agree!" Some random greasy fuckboy said as he walked past.
"Hey! Eyes up here, buddy." Grayson shouted in my defence.
"Woah, chill dude," the greaseball replied, "didn't know she was your girl. Sorry bruh."
"I'm not his gurl!" I yelled.
"Get out of here Chris! You're an ass!" Rebekkah shouted at him. I got my schedule quickly and thankfully, Grayson and I had our first class together, Chemistry with Ms. Easy. Yes, that was her real name. We got to our class and saw cue cards with our names on them in assigned seats. The desks were in pairs and unfortunately, I was next to some guy named Viktor V. Grayson was on the other side of the room, so we sadly took our seats. The bell rang and this Viktor was nowhere to be seen. Who misses the first day?
"Students, I would like you to meet our new student," the principal said after he walked in with a gorgeous boy with sandy blonde hair and piercing blue eyes.
"This is Viktor Vladimirescu. He just moved here from Romania." Viktor browsed the room with his shiny sky-coloured orbs until his eyes on locked on his desks and me. I got a chill from the way he looked at me, it was like he was staring into my soul. The principal stopped droning on about welcoming him to the school and left, but not before asking me to be his guide or "buddy." He smoothly took his seat to my right and Ms. Easy started off with a bad science pun, like she always does.
"Hi," I whispered, "I'm Indigo, but you can just call me Indie."
"Tch." He responded as he looked away. He was so rude but so dreamy. I could see and feel every girls' eyes on me, jealous of my being assigned seat and guide with him. He was super attractive, his sharp jawline accentuating his strong facial features. You could see his toned body under his black shirt and jacket, so I had trouble focusing.
"Indigo, could you define a polyatomic ion for us?" Ms. Easy asked, snapping me back into reality.
"Oh, sure. A polyatomic ion is an ion made of multiple atoms that come together to have a charge altogether."
"Very good. Moving on in our review..." She droned on for a bit and assigned us some easy work. Viktor and I both finished quickly and he actually said something to me.
"Is the guy staring at you your boyfriend?"
"Huh?" I exclaimed, looking back to see Grayson staring at me his chocolate brown eyes. "No, that's not my boyfriend. That's my best friend."
"Are you sure? He gave me a look that kinda says he wants to drive a stake through my heart."
"Oh no, he looks at every guy like that."
"Oh, so he's jealous of every guy."
"N-no. He's just protective. He's my best friend and he doesn't want me to get hurt."
"Yeah, but around every guy?" He said as he arched his eyebrow.
"No, just the ones I talk to."
"That's very wolf-like behaviour."
"Funny you say that, his last name is Wolfgang." I wondered why Viktor made that observation, it was little weird if you asked me. Class quickly ended after that and I was supposed to show Viktor around. Grayson offered to help, but he had to go to class, and he was seeming more angry the more time I spent with Viktor. I started considering what Viktor said, that Grayson was jealous. Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't. As I was showing him around, we got into an argument.
"Romeo and Juliet is a timeless story about love and betrayal!" I argued.
"It's so basic! A Midsummer Night's Dream is hilarious and has romance! Romeo and Juliet just makes you upset and confused. They wouldn't have died if Juliet had just waited!"
"But A Midsummer Night's Dream is so dumb! Why were they fighting over the indian boy? Don't they know that slavery isn't a thing anymore?" He pushed me against a wall and whispered huskily,
"Listen, why don't we just agree to disagree, okay? Clearly, neither of us are going to budge."
"Fine. Could you stop pushing me against the wall now?" Instead of doing what I asked he looked into my one golden and one blue eyes, and was slightly leaning in. I was confused so I just stood there, but then he planted one on me. After realizing he was kissing me, I pushed him away from me.
"What the hell? What are you trying to do?"
"Tch," and he walked away.
