Long ago when there were was a knight, who even though was young in years his soul old and powerful and he was all that stood between his people and complete destruction. This is the story of a boy named Savva of how he went on a journey to find the legendary knight, and how he fought against enemies both large and small of how he grew from boy to man and of course how he met his friends one friend in particular.

..........................

"In the olden days the forest surrounding our village was inhabited by great white wolves. They were our protectors are guardians, however one day the white wolves attacked one of the villagers. After which a great magician punished them for turning on us by changing them into horrid beasts which they would remain until the day a knight would come to save the world entire."

"Why did the white wolves attack and where did they go?" asked a 10 year old Savva to his mother.

"Know one knows." His mother replied.

"Can one knight really save the entire world?" Savva looked at his mother as she replied.

"Of course he can. A person can do anything, but only if you truly wish for it with all of your heart." She finished with a gentle smile on her face. Savva smiled at that before closing his eyes.

.........

4 years later*

Savva awoke with a jolt to the sounds of the dogs barking. " I wonder what's got them all riled up?" he thought to himself. He got up from the tree he had fallen asleep against, dusting himself off and picked up his sword. Placing it next to his 3 throwing knives and his skinning knife which he never left home with out and headed back to the village. As the sun made it's way towards the horizon, Savva grew closer to the village knowing immediately something was wrong when he heard a small scream. Quickly running forward Savva hid behind a tree and looked out towards the village and what he saw scared him. In the middle of town the villagers were crowded together with a large clan of hyenas circling about making sure they stayed in line.

"Search the houses, make sure no one escapes." The -what Savva assumed to be the- leader barked out. "After we have finished feasting on your harvests, we are taking you to Mom. She will be quite well for some new slaves." The leader cackled, the other hyenas started to laugh along with him. Sending a chill through Savva's spine as he sat their listening.

" And if you happen to not grab all of what you have we will eat you instead, what ever works for you." One of the smaller hyenas called out, before laughing again.

"Bring out the cage, they'll start in the morning." The leader yelled out again. The villagers gasped in fear and a young child began to cry before being hushed by his mother. For the cage was a gruesome sight, it was made out of bones, wood and rope tying it all together atop of a cart. Slowly the villagers made their way into the cage and were shoved in if they weren't moving fast enough.

.........

Savva sat hidden by the tree atop of a small hill and waited for darkness to fall. He didn't have to wait long and he slowly snuck into the village passing a few of the guards who were asleep at their posts. As he reached the cage a few of the villagers recognized him.

"Where's my mom?" Savva whispered, they parted and his mother stepped forward. When she saw him she hurried forward dropping on to her knees reaching for him.

"Savva" She whispered back, " what are you doing here? You need to leave, go get help."

" I'm here to get you out." Savva looked around the cage " It has to have a weakness..." Savva mumbled to himself walking around to the front (back?) of the cage. Looking around he sees a lock, getting up close he studies it " Now to pick the lock or break it...?"
