My name was Lesley Tulip Marie, like the flower I was born on december 15, 1974 I was murdered at the age of 15. I was here for a moment. Then I was gone.
Flashback to 1989 .
"Did your sister come home with you after school today?"
"No she stayed for 7th period and said she was going to a friends house"
"Well did she said she would call later?"
"No she said she would do what she wanted and that she didn't want to be treated as a child anymore"
"Well I'm going to call her and see what's going on"
My mom quickly ran out of my room with a look that I never seen before almost as if she was going to give my sister hell when she answered that phone. My mom called. She didn't answer.
"Where was she when you last saw her?" she asked me, and I knew if I didn't tell her she would punish me as well I mean this was my other sister she was talking about.
" WHY ISN'T SHE ANSWERING MY CALLS, WHERE COULD SHE BE!", my mom screamed out in anger.
" Honey calm down she has to be at a friends house, let's call danielle's mom", my dad knew he had to be the calm one in every situation because my mom couldn't keep her composure with anything, but this situation was different. It was every mother's worst nightmare. It was reality. My dad quickly called Danielle's mom and to my mom's surprise her mom said that my sister was never at her house. My mom raged at me to those words.
"Why wouldn't you wait with her to see if she was okay.." she began to sob at the thought of her daughter out in the streets at almost 6:30 at night. It was now dinner time and we were yet to hear a phone ring from my sister. My father then called the police because my sister was never the type to not call back even if she did want to be mature, she would still let us know where she was and what she was doing. She just never answered.
"You called the police right?" my mom frantically asked my dad.
"Yes I did but, i'm sure she'll call us back honey calm down"
"And if she doesn't?"
"Then we'll have the police send a search for her"
It was now 10:05 and she still didn't turn up and my dad began to panic almost just as much as my mom was, who was now crying at the dinner table and praying to god that her daughter would answer her phone. My dad had went out to search for her and asking the neighbors if they seen her with a measly little wallet picture that he had on him. Neighbors left and right told him they haven't seen her. Back at my house the police finally showed up and my mom was asked to describe what her daughter was wearing when she had last left the house and my mom vaguely could remember. She called me over to continue what she had on this morning, and I replied.
"Well I remember her wearing a pink shirt with black jeans and her usual white shoes and-"
" Her bracelet don't forget that it...it was a gold bracelet with all kinds of charms that symbol her personality". The officer wrote in his notepad the description of my sister and told my mother that he would get back to her as soon as possible, and he left. My dad got back and had no good news to tell my mom because he had no luck on finding my sister and my mom began to hyperventilate from all of this commotion that was happening. It was the next day and my mom sat patiently by the phone for a call from the officer or any investigators that there could have been. I had began to worry myself because it was this one weird neighbor that my sister would talk to from time-to-time and I began to think that he had something to do with my sisters disappearance. I remember my mom waking up early the next morning because the officer had not called my phone yet so I decided to just go with my instincts and try to sneak into my neighbor's house. I walked outside and luckily he had just driven off so that I could sneak through the basement or in the back door. I finally make my way in and began to look around and everything was to weird. All of his stuff was neatly put in place almost unnatural. I ease up the stairs not making a sound and I see his bedroom and a drawer that had a notebook which had- The front door opened. I quickly grabbed the notebook and opened the window and climbed down and made it home without him seeing me. When I got back to my house my mom was on the phone with the officer that had came by and this was what we had been waiting for.
"Hello?"
"Umm yes Mrs. Cohan this is Officer Payne"
"Oh yes are you calling with the investigation reports?"
"Yes about that ma'am....", he hesitated to say what he had on the tip of his tongue.
"We found your daughter's bracelet..."
" That's good right?...isn't it honey?" she asked my father but the officer continued with his response.
" We found your daughter's bracelet.....as well as a large amount of blood". My mom had this ghostly stare to the thought of my sister's death and the silence in the air was deadly. I quickly remembered I had my neighbors notebook and I never got to read it and i finally opened it to the sight of him planning ways to kill my sister. My only sister.
