Sick

"PHIIIIILLLL!! HAVE YOU SEEN MY CHARGER?" I yelled this across the apartment to my best friend, as I tear my room apart looking for it.

Phil shuffles in, his blanket wrapped around his shoulders and pajamas on. He has a red nose and I could see the bags under his eyes through his glasses. God he's so adorable. I think and immediately feel myself go red.

Phil's voice pulls me out of my embarrassment. "Yeah, I think I saw it in the lounge." He says not seeming to notice my blushing.
"Okay. Thanks. Hey, are you feeling okay? You look kinda sick." I say, mildly concerned.

"Yeah I'm fine, just a small chest cold. I'll be better in a couple of days." He replied, pulling his duvet tighter around him.

"Really?" I asked, "you don't look 'fine', Philly." I say as I put my hand against his forehead - he was burning up. "You definitely have a fever. Go to bed. I'll be right there with a couple of things." I tell him.

As Phil clumsily walks off, I go to the kitchen and make a quick (but delicious!!) batch of chicken noodle soup and tea. After I bring that up to Phil, I get some medicine and my laptop for movies.

"Thanks Dan." Phil says as snuggles deeper under his comforter as I put on The Lion King.
"You would do the same for me." I said as I joined him under the covers. Phil just smiled and continued watching the movie.

About halfway into the film, I noticed Phil starting to lean into me. Automatically, I put my arm around his shoulders and pull him closer. That alarmed me. Why did I do that? How do I know how to do that?

Luckily, it didn't matter. Phil just sighed contently and started playing with my hand. This is different. He's never done this before. I wonder why he's doing this? Maybe it's his mind being fuzzy from his illness? Or his exhaustion. Or even maybe....

"Dan?"
"Yeah, Phil?"

Before I knew what was happening, Phil's lips were on mine. I wrapped my arms around his waist while he cradled by head and neck. I don't know how long we kissed, but it must've been awhile because the movie was almost over.

Phil blushed. "I-I couldn't help myself. I've liked you for awhile. Sorry if I took you off guard."

I smiled. "I like you too." I said, realizing how true it is. "And," I added, you aren't a bad kisser, Lester."

He smirked. "I can show you again if you want."

I laughed. "Whoa. Suddenly oh-so smooth out of a stuttering being."

"Shut up, Howell."
"Gladly."
