Chapter 1: The Knock

Do you remember when you were little, your parents always checked for monsters under your bed at night? I don't. The only memories in my mind is the night that my father murdered my mother and then shot himself. I was hiding in the closet where he couldn't see me, he just thought I was at a friend's house. Supposedly my mother cheated on him with the gardener who was always kind to me, I wish I could say that about my father.

It was morning, I could tell by the redness I saw instead of the black I saw every time I closed my eyes. If I would have to guess it was probably around nine o'clock, the same exact time I woke up every morning just by coincidence. Weird right? I would say that I am a strange person but I prefer the word unique.

I don't think I've always been like this, I mean I don't particularly remember anything before the whole 'dad kill mom' thing, but maybe I was happier before and less insane as other people call me. The truth is I'm depressed, or at least my therapist says I am. Dr. Quinn, my therapist put me on some antidepressants, for some reason she actually think I take them. I don't like the way they make me feel, happiness should be real not made up by medication.

Every morning I feel like this, and every morning I find some strength to get up some how. I do my usual morning routine, you know the whole brush my teeth, hair, and what not kind of stuff. It's Monday so I have to make my way towards Hell, oh um I mean school.

When I arrive to Hell the usual, stupid mean sluts come to bother me just like any other day.

"Hey bitch how was your weekend? Did you finally lose that weight you've been keeping or are you still the same old fatty patty?" Slut One said with an extra piece of sarcasm. Real mature Slut One, real mature.

"Oh I don't think so, but have you lost the stupidity in your brain yet or is it still there?" I conquered as I walk off, leaving the Sluts with gaped mouths and big eyes.

After the stupid attack from the Queen Sluts, the day went pretty smoothly... well as smoothly as it can go when you don't have friends. I went home and went up to my room to study. Physics, the Great Depression of science, aka my worst nightmare. After about 2 hours of studying I tried to go to sleep, which was actually harder than normal.

Ive been trying to go to sleep for the past 3 hours but it was no use. I payed there with my eyes closed for what seemed like eternity as all of a sudden I hear 3 knocks at the door. Thinking that it was my aunt I open the old and squeaky door only to find that there was no one there.

I went to my bed and shut my eyes once again, until I hear knocking... for the second time.

"Aunt Lisa is that you?" I yell, but there was no answer. I decide to try to go to sleep again until the knocks kept going and going. With such loud knocks I couldn't go to sleep. Suddenly I hear a mumble and I sit up frantically. There was no one there at all and I was so confused. As things couldn't get any worse, the women that was making the mumbling screamed and pointed at the door. I run to open it and then I see a black shadow lurking and creeping it's way to me. All at once it leaps at me, all I see is blackness.

I wake up sweating, out of breathe thinking what I have just imagined was real... but it wasn't.

   It was a nightmare.
