Imagine a world with no enjoyment, happiness, or vibrancy. Nothing to bring the people satisfaction, nor is there anything that makes people different from one another. Everyone is the same, everything is the same. Nothing to look forward to. A place where words like "fun" don't exist. That exactly is what the world is like for them is like today.

The people do the exact same things everyday. The eat at the same time, they sleep at the same time, and they even go to the bathroom at the same time. They wear the same thing everyday, and they all wear the same thing. Everyone has their children at the same time. All of their births are scheduled. Creativity was outlawed.

At exactly 12:30am all of the eldest children are to go out of their homes, not thinking anything, just doing what they are to do. They are to walk to the amphitheater without talking to anyone or even looking at anyone. And if they did, violent disciplinary actions would be taken. Depending on how bad it was, they could be sentenced to death. They are to go to their regular scheduled lectures. The leader thought that this would give them discipline. Or that is what they were told. The only thing that the children were allowed to do was go to school and be educated to become one of the adults.

One of the leader's followers would stand on a big slab of concrete with identical pine trees surrounding it. The children, who were all age 10 and born on the same day, awaited their lecture.

"Children." The man's voice was loud and deep.

"Today the leader has requested you be told about having a relationship with someone of the opposite gender."

The children were silent.

"As you all know, you will be assigned a spouse, then you will get married the next day. Here are the rules: you do not get to choose who you marry, and you may not marry or be in a relationship with someone who has the same gender as you."

The children were still and quiet.

"Choose to disobey these rules, there will be consequences, I have finished. Thank you for listening and participating."

All of the children snapped their fingers once in chorus.

The children were in a line that was in order from the house on one end of the street to the other. Once the line passed a house, the person that lived in that house would be in the back of the line. They would simply step out of the line and walk in for lunch.
