Paul, a deep minded 35 year old hunter with no sense of humanity besides his past, sits at the edge of a cliff looking off into the distance. The sun sets behind a mountain filled with snow at its peak while birds chirp ever so slightly. Paul grabs his knapsack, then opens it to find a large metal flask filled with fresh stream water from a pond in the valley below him. He drinks the water as he reaches in his knapsack for a journal. Paul turns to page 15 then writes down," It has been 15 days since I have been in the wilderness, searching for the true meaning of life, but yet I have found nothing. Not one symbol of life itself. I have found a viewing point where I can see all of the valley around me, and I have found a fresh pond down this very hill." Paul sets his journal in his knapsack as he stands up with his flask in his left hand, then he looks through the valley with the sun's glaze of orange and yellow glittering across the valley floor. He turns around with his knapsack on his shoulders, then walks down the hill. Paul looks down the hill as it gets steeper then says to himself in his mind, "She would have loved that view. .. it would have made her think about the future... her bright future ahead of her. She would have looked at me and would have said something like how she sees that sun's colors in my eyes, and how she could write a story with a thousand words by just looking into them." Paul stumbles on a rock down the hill, he starts sliding but manages to stabilize. Dusk starts to end as the night begins. Stars come out as Paul reaches the bottom of the hill, he looks around the grassy field as a flashback of the woman running down the field with Paul. She lays down in the grass next to him and looks up at the stars. The flashback ends as Paul starts to walk through the field. Above him the milky way appears and the stars are like a night light getting brighter as it's plugged in. He lays down in the grass as he puts his knapsack down. He reaches for his journal and opens it to page 15. Then he grabs the pen and starts writing, "The stars are so beautiful tonight. It reminds me of her how she shined so bright in my life, but then disappeared all of a sudden." Paul falls asleep in the grass.
