-POV Detective-
I thought today would be the regular day at the station;the 'normal' murder, sure i love my job,but it gets very repetitive. Is today different?
*4 hours earlier*
I woke up to my alarm ringing and the blinding LED light showing it's 6:11am, i go out of bed and put on my usual detective outfit: black skinny jeans added with a black top and my famous leather jacket not forgetting my badge hooked on the right of my hip,i walked down stairs to the kitchen to grab my purse and headed to my standard coffee shop on the way to the station knowing i'll be needing it today.
After just minuets in the station i get a call over the radio. "10-20-Burglary in Progress - 225 East 19th Street"
"copy that, 800 headed to the 10-20, over." i stated. heading to the 10-20,i noticed that there was no damage out the front; no glass...
I walk into the store, looking around seeing that insides a total different story, glass everywhere and there out the corner of my eye the ambulance with;who looked to be the store owner in the back with a pretty nasty gash to the left forehead.
I approach her to ask her a few questions
"hi miss, i'm detective Alex Diaz. i'd like to ask some questions about the brake in, is that ok?" i ask while opening my notebook, she nods
"yes, that's fine Detective "she says
"ok, so whats your name?"
"oh, right, my name is Ava, Ava Clark"
"tell me Ava, what happened to your head?"
"well, i was just doing the usual thing i do on the morning, i check the registers to see if they have the right amount of change, then i check the camera to make sure they're working. Then i heard a smash and i walked out to the front to see what it was,and i came face to face with three men with zebra masks on with guns. Thats all i remember, its when i got this" she explains as she points to her blooded head with stitches, i nod.
"there was nothing on the cameras when you were checking them?" i ask inquisitively
"no, there was nothing."
"thank you, miss Clark. Call me if you have any questions and you take care of yourself." i say handing one of my police cards with my info on it.
"no, thank you, detective." she replies and smiles, i smile back and walk back inside the crime scene to see if there any clues.
There's something different about Ava, i dont know what yet, but she is very nice and kind from what ive seen around. i mean i dont now her. id sure like to...
After taking, what felt to be a thousands of interrogations of whiteness, most didn't even know what happened and didn't have any good information.
