Sophie is scared. Scared of what to think of the events that happened 4 months prior to the now. They were now living on the surface. She hasn't seen much of Kitsune after the incident. She only saw glimpses of his shadows in the trees as she walked to her local community college. Something that no one knew about her, except Kitsune, was that she was a book worm. She loved reading romance novel to science fiction to almost every book over biology, monster anatomy, and physics that she could find in the library back in the underground. She heard the whistling of the wind as it blew through the trees, her book bag dangling by her side. She walked along the rock path as she saw couples and nerdy students sitting or laying in the fresh green grass. It must have been freshly cut because it around her it smelt of freshly cut grass. It filled her sences with memory's of when she was a kid.
(Flashback)
She was running in the tall grass as her mom ran behind her. Her little feet making crunching noises on the leaves as she giggled in delight. The smell of the grass filling her little nose. She had made it to a small cherry blossom tree. She climbed into it as her mom caught up. Her mom was panting from how fast she was running. Her bump of a tummy noticeable through her baby blue kimono. "Slow down Hana." "Sorry mom, is little brother ok?" Her mom chuckled, smiling while putting her hand on her tummy. "I think he is ok." She looked up at her. "I think I'm going to name him Yotoko-" the image flashes away, to a dreed full scene, her mom being shoved off a cliff as she watched from high above the cherry blossom tree, covering her mouth to hide the crying and mute her loud sobs, she lost her brother and mother that day...
*Flashback ends*
Sophies face was covered is deep purple tears as she runs down the stone path and around the collage buildings to a small forest of cherry blossom trees, she runs to the tallest one in the center of a clearing, the pink peddles gracefully falling to the ground. She climbs up it and sits on the tallest branch, surrounded by the beautiful pink flowers as she sobbed over her past. She wished she could have saved them.
'How could you have saved them if you've already suffered the same fate?'
She roles up the sleeves of her lilac colored sweater as she sits her book bag beside her and begins to read, fading into a fantasy land she wished she lived in. The soft sounds of the wind blowing the blossoms of the tree becomeing ambiance behind a old romance novel from the Underground Library.
(5 hours later)
Her phone alarm went off, signifying it was lunch time. Her classes didn't start to 2 that afternoon, giving her enough time to go get some lunch. She threw down her book bag. It made a slight sound as it landed, all the books jumping up slightly before crashing back down on eachother. Her hands held on to a branch as she gently stepped down. She grabbed her bag and starts to walk off, her boots making a soft crunch as she walked along the wood chip path. She had made it back to the collage building as she walked to the center. There was a well there that she walked by everyday. She had noticed something felt off about it today. She walked closer and looked at it before noticing an Ingravment on the outside.
'Maybe someone had the bright idea to carve on it?'
She shrugged it off and starts to walk to a near by cafe. The sound of the busy street surrounded her as she made it to the sidewalk. She hummed an old tune she learned as a child. Passing by many familiar faces on her way to the cafe, she felt a little off. As if something was about to happen. Inside the cafe looked like something from a fairy tail. The tables verried with every design pattern and color. The booths where based off of famous childens movies and fairy tails. She walked to a small 2 person booth and sat in it. One chair was blue with a white apron design on it and the one across from her was designed with orange being the primary and there being green plade patches all over the seat. A little hard plasted card saying '10/6' on it.
Her hand reached for her sketch book and she pulled it out of her book bag as well as her pencil pouch, laying them on the table and beginning to sketch her surroundings. A waiter came over. "Hello Ma'am, I am Barley and I will be your waiter today," She looked up to the young man standing before her. "Would you like anything to drink Ma'am?" "Ice tea please." She smiles polightly. "Right away ma'am" Barley skates off to the back as she goes back to sketching. Her pencil gliding on the paper gently as she drew out the scenery. The smell of fresh tea filled her sences as Barley skated out and put her tea on the table before skating to another customer. She sipped it as she sketched. Barley came back over, "Is there anything you would like to eat ma'am?" Barley said with a joyous tone. "Maybe just a 2 croissants please." "Coming right away ma'am." He smiles and skated back into the back. The bell near the door rang as a monster with a black hood walked in. He was unidentifiable because of a black mouth cover and his hood over his head. He seemed familiar. Barley came out and put the plate of croissants in front of me. She started to nibble on them. Her mind was telling her she knew the monster that walked in, he walked past her to another table. This table has been painted like Beauty and the Beast. The red rose prop sitting at the end closest to the window. She looked to her left and saw a deep greenish brown hat that looked like the Mad Hatter's. She smiles about it, she loved that movie as a kids. Sighing, she got a plastic bag out of her pocket and put the croissants in it, zipping it up and puting it in her book bag. Getting up to go pay, she notices a tail on the mysterious monster that came in. It was one of a fox. 'Was it?... Nah it can't be'
She paid for her food and drink and headed to the college building. She hummed the tune again as she made it down the street. All but wondering if that fox monster was who she though he was.
'Hopefully its not him,'
'Hopefully.'
