" Riley?" I yelled. I've been looking for her for hours." Riley?" Where is she? " Riles, you in here?" I yelled through the dark. " Just go away Max,"she sobbed quietly. " I'm not going anywhere love." I walked over and hugged her. " Riles in your best friend I can't just leave when you need me." I sighed. " I'm sorry Max. I shouldn't have let you come. I don't know why he acts like that." She started to cry harder. " Riley, look at me." I demanded. She looked up slowly. " He had no right to hit you. I don't care who he is. You have six months until your 18 and I'm taking you away from here. We'll never look back. Ok?" I said and hugged her tighter. " ok" she whispered. " I love you." " I love you to Riles. Now let's get you home." I stood and helped her up. ( on the drive home)
"You have a bruise on your cheek. Riles please stay with me tonight." I asked with the best puppy dog eyes. " I have to ask my dad." She sighed. " what's our excuse?" I questioned. Riley's POV
" Hey dad?" I asked. " Hey baby girl can I talk to you a minute?" He asked. This is awkward since when does he call me baby girl and ASK to speak to me. " Umm...yeah ok sure." I said sitting beside him on the couch. " Okay, sweetie I'm sorry I hit I just don't want you running around with and getting pregnant at a young age." He said. " Dad, you know I'm not gonna do that." I replied. " Riley all I wanted to do was protect you. Not let you become your mother. Your almost eighteen now and I think it's time I give you some responsibility. I also have decide to stop drinking because when I do I hurt you. Baby girl I'm so sorry. I'm gonna do better. I promise." Tears weld in his eyes as he tried to explain this to me. " Oh dad. I love you so much." I hugged him and we cried. " I know he's waiting for you outside. Go ahead but be careful okay." He said smiling. " Okay dad I will." I said walking upstairs to pack. " Did he buy it?" Max asked. " He knows I'm with you.
