In the summer of 1988, The town of Derry suffered from the recurring event of adults disappearing 6 times the national average. But kids were worse. All accounts remembering a certain red headed clown in the mix. Misty grew up in a broken home and f...

"Are you coming for a cigarette or what? I've been holding off all day" She laughed at me. I nodded my head and let her drag me off to the girls bathrooms. The bell had just rung for the end of School for the summer but I wasn't all that interested.
We crammed into one of the stalls and she handed me a cigarette and lit both mine and hers up. I felt the smoke run to my lungs and I let out a sigh of relief. It's the only thing relaxing me these days.
It's also shitty that we have to keep hiding to take them. Mr. Keene owned a pharmacy down town where me and Bev steal the cigarettes from. At first we always felt guilty, but know that his daughter Greta bullies me and Bev to a miserable extent, we have no mercy in taking them.
And as the saying goes, 'Speak of the devil and they shall appear', Greta Keene walked into the girls bathroom. As soon as she did, I quickly put out the smoke in a hurry knowing how much of a rat Greta is.
"I can smell you, you lesbians" I hear Greta and her clique laugh. Oh did I forget to tell you? Me and Bev are in a relationship. Well in the eyes of everyone in Derry we are.
I roll my eyes in annoyance as I just wish the bitch would leave already. I watch as Bev huff out a breath and sit on the lid of the toilet. I get down on the ground to see what was happening. One of her slut bags was filling up a black bag with sewage water.
I clench my fists knowing exactly what's about to happen as I already have their moves memorised already. I grab the umbrella from my school bag and wait until I hear her move to the stall next to us.
I already have blocked out Greta as she continued to throw insults at me and Bev. I hear the girl climb the toilet seat and open the umbrella to cover me and Bev. The bag was dumped over and I watched as the sewage falls around me and Bev.
Bev blocks her nose quickly from the smell as I try not to gag. Once it was over I throw the umbrella over the stalls in hopes of hitting one of them. I hear a bunch of screams and running as me and Bev chuckle.
"Is she ever going to give up all that shit?" I say, picking up my bag from the ground and opening the stall to let me and Bev out.
"Once a bitch, always a bitch" She says. We both laugh walking outside. As we headed to the stairs we seen a over weight boy blocking up the stair case. Ah, he must be the new kid. I look at Bev.
"I gotta run but I'll meet up with you later" I say. She nods before I run off in the opposite direction. Just as I reached the main parking lot of the school I seen all of Bill and his friends. I was close enough to Bill as we both lost our siblings last year and we found comfort in each other. Poor little Georgie deserved better.
Just as I reached the sign claiming '7:00pm' was the curfew for the kids in Derry since so many of us went missing, I was tossed to the ground with a body on top of mine.
"What the fuck dude?" I say looking up to see Richie Tozier. He was one of Bill's best friends. Alongside Stan and Eddie.
"Holy shit" I hear Richie say and he scurries off the ground and gives me a hand to pull myself up with. Once I stand and look at him he winks. I roll my eyes playfully as I rub the dirt off my skirt.
"Fuck off Bowers" I say flipping him off once I realised he was picking on the boys. Your probably thinking why the fuck would I even attempt to talk to Henry Bowers like that? Well his dad dates my mom. Henry Bowers is my step-brother.
"Get the fuck out of here Misty this is none of your business" He spits at me. I look at him as he licks his hand and wipes it on Bill's face. I look behind to see Patrick staring at me greedily. Ass hole.
Once bowers and his gang walk off I turn back to the others. I seen them looking at me shockingly and I shrugged.
"That was the hottest shit I have ever seen" I hear Richie say. I chuckle under my breath knowing how much of a flirt Richie was. Especially me.
"Thanks M-missy" Bill stutters. I smile at him and fake bow as he laughs.
"What were you all up to anyway?" I say raising an eyebrow and I hear Stan begin to start talking.
"We're about to go down to the Barron's" He lets out slip. I see Eddie punch his arm giving him a look while I smirk.
"Barrons? Eh? Need an extra?" I say. I really didn't feel like going home now knowing what just happened with Henry. Also I don't feel like getting shouted at.
"Fuck yeah" Richie says. I chuckle as he puts his arm around me while walking over to the bike rack. I ended up on the back of Bill's bike with my arms secured around his waist as we headed to Eddies house for supplies.
Once we were in the kitchen it already started off with banter between Eddie and Richie as I rolled my eyes. Stan had to leave earlier but said he'd be back for when we leave to the sewers. He had his bar mitzvah coming up and his dad was a Rabbi so if he messed up he would be in some serious shit.
"Hey Eddie, this cupboard is filled with pregnancy pills!" I hear Richie joke. I look at Bill as he shoved as much food as possible into his backpack. I knew this was for Georgie. I would have done the same for Alice if I already had come to terms with her death.
"Yeah, I'm saving them for your sister" Eddie fires back as Richie rolls his eyes. I had to be as quiet at possible in the house as Eddie's mom would kill him if she knew he had a girl in the house. Especially one she thinks of so badly. It was easy enough to sneak in but I'd say it's something else to get out.
Once we were done I watched as bill pulled open the front door as I made a sprint to hide behind it. We were about to walk out when I heard Eddie's mom.
"And where do you think your going Eddie?" I roll my eyes. She was the most paranoid woman I have ever met. She made Eddie take all these pills and insists he's sick when he isn't. She also just a downright bitch.
"Just out with my friends" He said more sounding like he wasn't too sure himself of what we were doing.
"Y-y-yeah w-w-w..." Bill stuttered to getting out. Richie had cut him off though.
"Bill got a new crochet set. Spit it out already B-B-Bill" Richie quickly lied. If Eddied mom he was going down to play in the Sewers she would have what he calls an 'aneurism'.
Just as they were about to file out again Eddies mom spoke again.
"Eddie, arn't you forgetting something?" I see Eddie huff under his breath before going over and kissing his mom on the cheek. Bill and Richie begin snickering and soon earned a smack on the arm from me.
"Hey Mrs. Kaspbrak, do I get one too?" Richie jokes but was pushed out the door by Eddie.
"Sorry mommy" I hear Eddie say before slamming the door. I hopped back onto Bill's bike and headed down to the sewers.
Little did I know that that day was the day that changed my life forever.
