Most Marvel fanfictions include an OC, also known as an original characters. And a majority of these OCs are usually paired up with another existing Marvel character. However, there are some things you should attempt to avoid when creating a Marvel OC.

i. Don't make your character overpowered. It isn't very creative to just have an emotionless character that can kill anyone that opposes them instantly. There's no struggle, neither is there character development if your character is like this.

ii. Don't have two-dimensional characters that RELY on the love interest! It's a bit annoying when the only storyline characters get is a love story. Marvel isn't only about love, it includes action, development. If you want your OC to be realistic, give them goals, aspirations, backstories, flaws, etc.

iii. Don't try to make your character something like Tony Stark's daughter or something like that. It's extremely common, so many try an underused character like Sam Wilson or Clint, etc.

iv. Add some relationships between your OC and other characters. Unless your OC is emotionless, they need someone to lean on.

v. Use underrated faceclaims! And if you're making family relations, make sure that the two faceclaims look alike.
