"Wentz to Darby...Darby sacked and is slow to get up on the play I don't know what happened there with that one let's see what the training staff thinks of this one" The commentator's voice said through the television in the suite above Fedex Field. I watched as my best friend ran out onto the field to tend to her injured player. She was the first female on a training staff in the NHL so as her best friend it was my job to support her at every game. She started working for the Philadelphia Eagles just this season so this was her first game in the big leagues. I watched her help Darby on to the cart and drive him back to the locker room. The game wrapped up nicely with a beautiful Eagles win thanks to Fletcher Cox putting the game away. I made my way down to the locker room to meet her after the game and was surrounded by family and media trying to get to the players. I walked through the long winding hallways on my phone texting Kelli trying to find out where she was and if I could come down yet. I wasn't watching ahead of me because I wasn't expecting anyone to be walking directly toward me until I was falling backward.
"Oh my god! I'm so sorry I didn't see you coming!" the voice said and I looked up and saw big brown eyes and a perfect smile
"No it's my fault I was texting and not paying attention" I smiled to the handsome stranger
"Oh here's your phone I think you dropped it" He smiled handing me my phone "Well I'm sorry again"
"It's fine! No worries" I smiled "But you better watch out wearing an Eagles jersey around here"
"Oh you're a Redskin's fan? I'm in your territory" He scoffed
"Actually no" I smiled "Eagles fan but I just came to support the training staff" I said with a laugh
"Training staff? Well I'm glad a pretty girl like you knows what a good team is" He said making me blush "Well I have to head out my friends are waiting but it was great to meet you..."
"Meghan" I said extending my hand
"John" He smiled shaking my hand before walking away. I swooned as soon as he turned away and took my phone out to find Kelli immediately. I reached into my pocket for my phone but when I took it out it wasn't my phone. I tried to unlock it but I didn't know the passcode. I hit emergency call hoping I remembered Kelli's phone number. After a few rings she picked up
"Who's this?" She said and I heard the team behind her
"Kelli! It's Meghan. Listen I dropped my phone and somehow switched with this guy I ran into in the tunnel so just come find me so we can find my phone" I explained and she agreed as soon as she was done she made her way to the tunnel to meet me. She tried called my phone but no one answered so she texted a few times and we waited on the train ride home for any response. It took a few hours but when we finally made it back to our apartment in Philadelphia John's phone rang with a facetime call
"Should I answer it?" I asked Kelli
"It might be this John character trying to find his phone or it could be his friend who could get into contact with him to switch the phones back" She explained so I slowly accetped the call and saw the same face I had bumped into in the tunnel
"Hey! I am such an idiot I wasn't paying attention and handed you the wrong phone" I said clearly embarassed
"I should have realized" I laughed awkwardly "Well listen I'm back in Philly now so somehow we need to switch phones"
"Oh perfect I'm right over the bridge in New Jersey so we can meet tomorrow in center city and exchange the phones. My passcode is 1393 so in case you need to use it or whatever" He laughed "So I'll text you from your phone so we can meet up tomorrow"
"Sounds good to me, there's a small cafe type thing on Walnut Street I'll send you the address just meet me there at 1"
"Sounds like a plan to me" John smiled "See you then" he said before hanging up
"Doesn't he look familiar" I said to Kelli was was watching over my shoulder
"Yea I just can't place him"
