Smiling on the outside but not happy internally,
Mind's a whirlwind of emotions,
That I am always glad to un-see,
Such a curse to feel everything so deeply,
And yet unable to explain it neatly,
Nevertheless, pretending to be somebody,
Which I absolutely detest to be.
What made my heart beats rise once,
Have unapologetically lost their essence,
Never been the one who played with pretence,
Weary of people who lack such conscience,
Nothing left that can cheer up the soul,
Without a fruitful guidance.
The feelings once so eternal are now lost,
Wouldn't mind throwing it all away at any cost,
Appears to be an empty hole where once a heart stayed,
No wonder for it was bruised, broken & aimlessly played,
Regrets that existed seem to be fizzing out gradually,
Unsurprising that people could judge so vacuously.
Was foolish to pose blind where I could clearly see the layers,
Thought trusting them could silence the naysayers,
Funny how the society shamelessly supported the betrayers,
Never nursed an ambition of being one of the wrongful obeyers,
Sanctimonious comments painted my future ahead,
Hell echoed as bitter words forced my glories to fled.
White paint peeled off to leave the walls bare,
Elements were exposed though naked and afraid,
Much like my soul,
Starved of love and affection,
Tolerated but not wanted,
As the waves of pain which had only lapped at me before,
Now conspired to rear up high and pulled me under.
Reflections of my unspoken words ricocheted to find solace,
Time shifted from it's axis as it progressed,
Never shed an ounce of momentum of carrying their weight,
Dreams of a coveted life charged an unbelievable freight,
The wounds didn't heal,
Nor did they lessen,
They just did stay.
