On this particular sunday afternoon the air felt crisp as it grew harder and harder to inhale the thick air. My bedroom window outlooks the whole back field. The fog covered the tall grass. The herd stood out there shaking if there shivers and grazing under the big oak. My pjs were soft as I sunk into my bed nestling up in my blankets. I got dressed into some baggy jeans and a comfy hoodie. I headed out to the kitchen to find my 2 older sister and my youngest brother. "Do you know what time it is?" Asked my sister Kenzie. "No" I replied opening the fridge. "Time for you to get a watch" My little brother Deign laughed. He thought that joke was the funniest thing in the world. It got pretty annoying. "Mom and dad left to auntie Marlee's to help them with some broken machines." Haylee said. I didn't reply. I took my yogurt and sat down at the table beside Kenzie. Kenzie was the oldest child out of the 6 of us. My parents always believed in big family's so you would guess they would have one of there own. Kenzie is on her last year of high school finishing up to become a big animal vet. She never was much into the riding horses part but she always liked fixing any of the farm animals. Max was my oldest brother. Bond to take over the family farm he worked out in the fields with dad. Haylee is like me, love riding horses and working with them. She's taken on many troubled horses and is good at fixing them. Then there is me. This horse crazy 12 year old girl just living her life. Alexa is my younger sister. She is also horse crazed and rides along side me and Haylee. She is a sassy cowgirl full of love. Deign is the youngest kid. He is 6 years old and thinks the stupid jokes are the greatest. He gets everything he wants and has no interest in farming what so ever. His only interest includes making a body print on the couch and wrecking his brains with video games all day. My mom is this beautiful blonde. Tall and glowing with light. She is an amazing horse trainer and rider. My dad comes from a long line of farmers each farm passed down to the other. " Jess?" Kenzie asked. "Yeah" I replied. I saw she was gazing out the window as she started to slowly get up. She was going to the sliding glass door and put her hand up against the glass. I saw her look back at me looking sympathetic. "What is it?!" I said worried. She gazed back out the window then reached for the latch to unlock the door. "Kenz? What's going on?" Megan for up and looked out side as well. I never clued in to maybe walk over there and bait see for myself. But when nobody would answer I walked over myself only to realize the regret that started to fill in my gut. For the horror that stood infront of me...
