They had been fighting for months, but the creatures just kept coming, multiplying, never dwindling. And never giving up. First, it was just one, an anomaly, popped up which was small and easily taken down, but then over time, it was more and more. They became bigger and more advanced. Before they were like clueless babies, not knowing which way was up and just hissing at everyone that moved, swiping at it. But then began to change, they began chasing after things in pursuit, began running faster, hissing louder. Like they are growing. Becoming more like wild animals, not smart wild animals, but more voracious and coordinated none the less.

"AHHH! What ARE THESE THINGS?!" Anti cried, attacking another one with his knife glowing a sickly neon green. He slashed at a few of the smaller creatures that were galloping up to him, tongues out like snakes.

"We can't do this forever!" Dark replied, sending out waves of dark shadow to try and repel as many as he could. A few got pushed backwards across the floor like tumbleweed, letting out sharp whimpers.

"At least you two have some strong form of defence!" Mark yelled. Him and Jack only had their fists, and some moves taught to them by their demonic counterparts. They planted their fists into a toad looking creature that was oozing slime. Before Mark kicked it out the way with a roundhouse kick.

Normally they wouldn't dream of getting on with their counterparts, or even civil cooperation, but drastic times cause for drastic measures. And when everything is on the line, the unlikeliest of enemies can make the best team.

Repulsive creatures have been festering from everywhere, destroying whatever they can find and growing higher in numbers. It seems they will stop at nothing until their goal is achieved, which the others can only speculate is world domination.

"You two are the demon experts, what the fookin' hell do you think they are?!" Jack demanded.

"Fuck me if I know! If we knew what they were, do you really think we'd be as panicked?!" Anti yelled back.

"That doesn't matter right now! What matters is surviving this wave!" Mark shouts to try and knock some sense back into everyone.

"He's right, no use arguing about it now" Dark added.

Some of the creatures began laughing hysterically like a pack of mad hyena.

"That's new..." Jack said quietly.

One of the bigger creatures, like a giant twisted looking crow, mixed with a demented dragon, stepped forward. All the other creatures stopped attacking and watched behind like a band of gang members.

"We evolving" it sneers as the others laugh behind it. It was talking but not perfectly, its pronunciation and grammar were way off. However, considering this is the first one that has ever made a complete sentence rather than shouting single words, such as "run", "kill", and "hunt!", it was scary. They all glared at it with wide eyes. The creatures every so often would drip, like a little bit of ink, but it seemed to be tiny bits of their own bodies that are dripping off, rather than something that was on them. They all shared similar features, black bodies, looking like twisted nightmare animals. As if the world itself had plunged into a nightmare where everything was contorted and horrific.

"What do you mean...?" Mark asks, fearing the answer.

"Come now, Mark, you can be figure out. Have you not been seeing?" it cackles.

"How do you know my name?!" Mark demands.

The creature ruffles its feathers menacingly. It leans forward, lifting a wing pretending to shield its voice, as you would tell someone a secret.
