After almost two hours after Jela leave the cafe, I decided to leave too and excuse myself to my friends saying that I'll go home and rest.
But in reality I'm not going home straight, I'll went to Jela's and talk to her.
I can't give her the time our friends says, I won't let tonight end knowing that Jela is mad at me.
I was driving going to their house when I pass by the park near the area and see a familiar figure sitting on the bench alone.
I slow down the car and make a stop when I'm positive that it was Jela.
I make a small and quiet steps near her, and I was thankful that she didn't look my way, as I came nearer I hear her sob, and it makes me vulnerable and weak, I didn't make any sound and just sit beside her with a little space and not mutter any words.
It's almost 10 minutes and she's still sobbing, and I'm still sitting just accompanying her and let her cry until she's done, I give her my handkerchief without any words.
I was relieved when she accept it and wipes her tears using my handkerchief saying " thank you, and I'm sorry I'm a mess right now"
I can't form a sentence, I'm the reason why she's a mess right now, so I decided to shut up until she decides to talk again.
"you know the feeling that you think everything is fine with the man you start to like and next thing you know he likes your best friend?" she pause and wipes her tears again.
Wait, what? Is she talking about me, did she say she likes me? But wait why there is a best friend involved and she's not mad because Brandy told me about her situation, she's mad because she thinks Brandy and me?
I was cut with my thoughts when she speaks again.
"you know the feeling that you feel like being given a wrong signal, or it's just me who is dull enough to understand the situation? but he kissed me so you can't blame me" she shrugged.
I'm so happy to learn that she's mad because she thinks me and Brandy have a relationship and not because Brandy meddle with her situation with her father, so everything is a misunderstanding, I let out a sigh and decided to talk, now is the right time to clear all things and tell her about the bet we made, it's hard for her to learn from other people, it must come from me.
"I'm sorry, I don't know how to say it but, I'm happy to learn that you like me too" I say in a whisper like manner
She was surprised to hear me talk and looks at my way with an open mouth.
"you...wait... I.... " she stuttered
"let me talk first before you get mad again and please listen very carefully okay" I said in a slow pace.
She nods and looks down at her feet, I tilted her chin up and I let her look at me.
"I wanted you to look at me when I say this, I want you to know that I'm sincere and I mean what I said every single of it" she nods and I continue "what you think about me and Brandy is wrong, we're just friends, I talked to her because I know she's the right person to talk to, when I learned that you have a problem with your dad, and I'm not wrong, she helped me, but don't be mad at her, i forced her to talk. And I like you not her, so stop over thinking okay, did you understand?"
She just stared at me and after a few seconds she nods at me and smile, I didn't waste time I kiss her passionately and she oblige to respond and I deepen the kiss but she stops and pulls away.
"what's wrong?" I asked with concern
"it's already late, I need to go home" she said
"okay, I'll drive you home" I said and stands up and offer her my hand that she gladly accept.
We walked in silence going to my car and decided to stop her and said.
"jel, I have something to tell you but please don't be mad?" I tell her
"and what is that all about? Can't that not wait until tomorrow?" she asked
"I think not, I need to tell you this because it's important and I don't want to give you another reason to be mad at me"
"okay spill, you made me nervous" she said
"remember the first time we met at the bar?" she nods "I made a bet with the boys but trust me I made it just to have a reason to came near you and be able to know you without the boys teasing me" I look at her face scanning for some reaction but there's none she's just listening.
"I like you ever since believe me, am I forgiven?" I add
"I don't want to know what the bet is, is there any thing else you want me to know?" she inquire
"no, none at all, am I cleared now, you're not mad at me?"
She sighs and said "no, so can i go home now?"
The drive is quiet and I can't take it anymore "are we good now?"
She just nods at me "can I ask you for a proper date?" I asked once again
"are you sure I won't have any conflict with Brandy in the process if I agree with that date? " she ask back
"no, so tomorrow at 6 pm?" I ask stopping the car at their driveway and get out to open the passenger.
"okay" her brief reply
"aren't you going to give me a goodbye kiss?"
"in your dreams" she said and walked straight to their door.
Rude much! But I still win, she's the first one to accept that she likes me even if she didn't intend it to say in my presence, I'm still the most handsome among the three of us.😉
