Trouble...

Something that Tadashi Akiyama had grown accustomed to in his life, and was pretty sure he would never see the end of for that matter. As a child, he'd often gotten into the most unfortunate predicaments, most of which were not his fault. Fortunately, for the ones that were, his sister was always there to bail him out. Except...for when she wasn't.

On his fifteenth birthday, the year he was to go to Duel Academy, his sister died from a cancerous illness, and with her went most of Tadashi's happiness. Before her death, she had created a deck for him, placing her heart and soul into the cards. It was the best, and unfortunately the last gift he would ever receive from her.

After that, Tadashi didn't think things could get any worse. Apparently the engine of the boat he was riding to Duel Academy Island thought differently...

"Land ho!" Cried the captain as he steered the boat towards Duel Academy Island.

"Two weeks. We were delayed two weeks," Tadashi mumbled getting a laugh from the captain.

"Aye, but we made it laddie!" The captain exclaimed, patting the wheel as he continued to steer. "This ship is old but she's still a fine vessal."

Tadashi rolled his eyes.

"If you call two engine failures 'fine,' I guess," Tadashi retorted.

"Oi, look at it this way. At least yer gettin' to the academy," the captain replied. "No use in grumblin' bout it now."

"I'm two weeks late. I think I have the right to grumble," Tadashi fired back.

"Don't worry about it chum. Me first mate called the academy to let them know what 'appened. They know yer a bit tardy," the captain grinned.

"A bit? I'm going to have back-work up to my elbows," Tadashi frowned. "I'm severely behind."

"I see. That be a problem don't it?" The captain mused.

"That's what I've been trying to say!" Tadashi growled.

The ship soon pulled into port and came to a stop after the anchor was dropped.

"And 'ere we are! Duel Academy Island! Time to disembark!" The captain shouted over the intercom.

"You know I'm the only one getting off here...right?" Tadashi deadpanned.

"Aye, I know that lad. I'm just havin' a little fun is all," the captain laughed.

"Whatever," Tadashi said as he grabbed his suitcase, reaching down to his deck holster to be sure it was secure on his belt before departing.
