He stood there every day. Outside that little store across from my cafe on the corner of willow and birch. I didn't know his name at the time, but every day sure enough there he was, tattoos piercings and all. And then, just like that, one day he wasn't. It had been weeks since id seen him last, it was throwing me off. I didn't care for change, and though this was a small one it still made me uncomfortable. I missed the man on the street corner.

As I was walking home from the cafe that day I saw him, in all his dark haired green eyed glory, sitting in an alleyway on an old moldy mattress with the springs poking out, I was confused and saddened to say the least, I hadn't expected him to be homeless. Though I should have guessed he was struggling, considering he seemed to wear the same thing every day. His attitude should have tipped me off too. He always had an essence of anger and sorrow, like life had beaten him down one to many times.

I slowly approach him as he looks up. I don't even know this guy, for all I know he could be a creep. But that doesn't seem to stop me. "Hey, need a place to stay?"
