My day started like any other... I could hear one of voices yelling for cloth and towels but I was also hearing a hissing crackling noise in my ears, so I only heard a few words and phrase were recognizable.

"Hot... Burning up... all dead," the voices say. All I can remember was being outside one a winter day and feeling like someone set me on fire after that it's all darkness. This was a year after the disease , Elementis, broke out and wiped out half my town Newport. My twin brother was one of the first to become infected, in our town, then my mom, and my dad and now I guess me. Our King got it when it had first started, about a year ago, and died from it so his son Prince Ezra stepped in at the age of 17.

"All dead... cooling down... blood hair," the voices whisper around me. I remember days before this I was walking through the streets seeing bodies lining the road everywhere, the smell was unbearable. Elementis was known as the un-curable. Most people to have it died but those who were lucky to live were cursed , everyone called them Wraths.

"Move anything if you can hear me," a man's voice said. It sounded miles away I so badly wanted to sit up but all I could manage was trying to flutter my eyes.

"You see that doctor, her eyes," I wanted to thank however that was for noticing but it felt like acid was under my skin. My body felt like molten lava. I knew this wouldn't last long soon I would be plunged into an abyss for god knows how long.

Ages later I attempt to open my eyes again but all I see is red and orange. I try to call for help but my throat burns like I swallowed a match.

"Calm down! Breath! Take it slow," a man's voice says soothing me. I do what he says and end up slipping into darkness again.

Opening my eyes I find myself blinded by the sun, instinctively I bring my hand up to block the sun and am surprised to see my body cooperate but burn slightly. When my eyes fully adjust I see I'm in some sort of infirmary, not like the one in Newport, there are rows of beds most vacant. Some people were coughing, sleeping and worst of all sobbing.

I throw my legs over the side of the bed I'm in and once my feet touched the ground and jerked back at how cold the floor felt. I looked down to see I was only in a paper gown.

One of ladies, she looked like a nurse, saw me and ran off. I got up the nerve to try to stand again, I'm restless from being asleep for who knows how long. My body feels different somehow like every step flicks slightly. I stand again slowly testing my legs making sure they don't buckle under me. Luckily they don't.

I walk slowly to the sink and look in the mirror and barely recognize who I'm looking at. Before whatever this is I had long wavy black hair and dark brown eyes but now I have dark red hair and red flecks in my dark brown eyes. At first glance by real back panic causing the red foot in my eyes to flare up in my hair to turn a shade lighter.
