Welcome! Just a few notes about this book. If you haven't read my other "___ X Reader" fanfic, when "___" shows up, you put your name there. Oh, and I'm a relatively new writer who just wants to gain some writing experience. Also, I might open requests for scenarios...????? Don't expect it but it might happen. Besides that, ENJOY!
P.S. This NU'EST's Jonghyun, not CNBLUE's.
Your POV
Ya wanna know what torture's like in my world? Well too bad since you're going to find out anyway. I can see the school from around the bend and my stomach already starts to twist up into knots. Just looking at the huge crowd gathered around the front entrance strikes up a certain kind of fear inside of me. Of course, it's way worse since it's the first day of school. I give myself a quick pep talk and take a deep breath before mingling myself in with the crowd. I keep my head low as I make my way through the other students to the entrance. My heart pounds in my chest and I try to take deep breaths in through my nose, and out through my mouth.
Before my heart can officially beat its way out of my chest, the bell rings, saving me from the suffocating people. I scurry to my locker and check my schedule. Sighing at the overwhelming list of classes, I empty my bag of what I don't need and push the door closed. Just as I turn around, a running black-clad, figure knocks into me, completely throwing me off balance. Sounds of gentle chuckles fill my ears, but I barely notice them over the anxiety raising in my body from the contact I was making. The guy gets up quickly and runs off again, yelling a sorry over his shoulder. Suddenly, another guy comes running down the hall, yelling something completely incoherent. When he's gone, I slide to the cool ground, trying to tame the silent monster fighting against my mind.
After what seems like an eternity, I deem myself okay to stand up. Checking the old, rusty clock on the wall, I realize I was late to class. Great... I pick up my bag and sling it over my shoulder. Walking with haste, I scan the many doors lining the hallways trying to find my homeroom. The halls were practically empty, besides a straggler or two, making the trip way easier. Finally reaching my destination, I take a deep breath before peeking my head in slightly.
"Come on in, and pick up the pace since you're already late. Doesn't seem like this year's off to a good start, already two tardies on the first day." The teacher says, so I duck my head and walk to the only other empty seat. "Now, you must be ___. We're going over the syllabus which you'll find on your desk." The teacher smiles before resuming her speech.
Just from the mention of my name, I can already hear the silent murmurings of gossip.
"___? That girl?"
"Who's that?"
"Who's she?"
"You didn't hear!? I thought everyone knew."
"Oh, her. I heard what happened. What a poor thing..."
My cheeks flush when I hear all of the comments and I duck my head lower than it already was. Blinking back tears, I slide the syllabus closer so I can follow the teacher.
Jonghyun's POV
"Yo, dude. That was so not cool this morning!" Dongho says around the food in his mouth. "You made me late for homeroom." He whines and I roll my eyes.
"Yeah whatever. It was funny though." I reply and he gives me a look of disbelief. He huffs before returning to his lunch.
I was sitting outside with the crew for lunch as usual but my mind wasn't into the conversation at all. All I could think about was that girl. Thinking back to this morning, I remember stealing Dongho's phone and running down the halls with it. Of course, I crashed into a girl at her locker. But when we went down, there wasn't even a scream. Her eyes widen like crazy but her mouth stayed firmly shut. Like, a ghost held them shut or something. Even when I got up, no words flew out of her mouth like I was expecting. Her only response was a terror-filled look. Weird. Sighing, I stand up and brush off the grass on my jeans.
"I'm heading in, I got detention." I say and four faces turn to look at me.
"Yeah sure whatever."
"See ya!"
"You deserve a detention..."
"Still up for my place after school?"
I nod and they all beam before going back to whatever they were talking about. With my backpack firmly on my back, I trudge back into the school building. The halls are completely empty since everyone was enjoying their 30 minutes of freedom, while I had to go to lunch detention. Oh well, I was late to class this morning and disrupted the whole class by running in and knocking over the teacher. My mind goes back to the girl. She came in after me and only bowed her head in apology. Then everyone in the room started whispering.
Ridding my head of these thoughts, I make my way over to the classroom. I open the door and I have to stop myself from laughing at loud. There, right before my eyes, were two girls, both donning name-brand clothes and full faces of makeup, as well as covered in spaghetti and sauce. They were sobbing and threatening that they would tell their fathers about this. I hide my grin behind my hand and take a seat in the back corner.
Do I even want to know what happened?
Your POV
Looking into the rowdy lunchroom made my palms clammy and my head spin, so I wander around the halls, searching for an empty classroom. Finally finding one, I sit by the window and look out into the courtyard. The sandwich I packed this morning didn't seem appetizing at the moment so I just enjoy the short moment of silence. On the grass outside sat a group of five guys eating lunch. Upon closer inspection, I realized that they were the group, the five guys who were famous for simply being famous. Does that even make sense?
When they had shown up at our school freshman year, everyone obsessed over them. The five handsome boys took our school by storm and now everyone knows who they are. There's Minhyun, the silent, brooding nerd who was constantly proving teachers wrong. Minki, the womanizer of the group, even though he's known to be even more pretty than actual girls. Baekho, the classic class clown and slacker. Aron, the only normal person but hangs around them anyways. And Jonghyun, the world-renowned bad boy of our school.
Coming out of my thoughts, I notice Jonghyun standing up and leaving the group. Probably to go to lunch detention. Shrugging off what I see, I return to my lunch. I munch on my apple and scroll through my emails when I come across an email from my principal. He was requesting a "conference" with me, but I know what he actually wants.
Contemplating ditching for the rest of the day, I stand up and pack up my lunch. I shoot down the idea when I know that he'll be more suspicious when he sees I ditched. I take a deep breath and exit the safe haven of the quiet classroom. My feet trudge in the hallways as I come up with ways to avoid anything happening in our "conference". I heave a sigh and walk past another classroom with its door wide open.
From outside, I can hear the voices of complaining girls and a guy quietly laughing. I shrug and continue down the hallway. Lost in thought, I don't notice a head poking outside the classroom doorway, nor do I notice when the owner of said head starts to quietly follow me.
That's a wrap for the very first chapter of this story. As I've said, I'll probably just leave this up for a while and not update it because you know.... I'm still finishing up my other story so....
I hope you liked this start! Love you guys lots!!
Update: 10/20/17 - did some minor editing and cemented some plot details
