Feel the rich warmth of the sun kissing your skin, the smell of sweet wildflowers blooming and opening your eyes to a bright blue sky. It was these days that brought him the most joy. He would sit on a swing attached to a tree that was older than he could remeber and just watch. He'd watch as birds fluttered around from tree to tree calling out to each other, the clouds drift aimlessly, and his favorite thing the roses growing. Long stems of rich green complemented by petals of vibrant reds and pinks. If there was one thing you needed to know about him, it was that he was not normal. This boy was not nearly close to being boring or dull. This boy was death.
The very person who reaps souls and is represented as a demon was no taller than five feet. He had jet black hair and in his opinion boring grey eyes. More often than not he wears soft colors. Grey's and tans, mabye some blue. Death has a small build. But this was an advantage, after all he had to be quick and stealthy. It was quite fascinating to him that the mortals thought of him as a big buff man. He visited the mortals relam on many occasions. Not only for his job but for pure amusement. They we're just so oblivious to his appearance.
Enough with him and back to the story. Death was very fascinated with those roses, a patch of them in the middle of a field. These roses were quite special, he could touch them. Without gloves Death had a, for lack of better words, deadly touch. Leaves would wither, grass would wilt, and entire trees killed. Everything except for these flowers would die. They were only real color he could feel. The only substance he could touch. He fell in love with them.

I've been playing with this concept for awhile and this is a short test chapter to see if people like it.
