"Fallon... Fallon... Hello? FALLON!" I jumped in my seat as I came back to reality. I looked over at my passenger side seat to see Kale sitting there and gave him a confused look.
"When did you get in here?" I questioned.
"I've been sitting here poking you for about..." He paused to check his phone for the time, "ten minutes. What were you thinking about?"
Geez, I had been zoned out for that long? Ever since practice began all I could think about was Champ. I ended up hitting not only myself but a lot of others with my flag during set runs because I was so distracted by him. I hadn't even spoken one word to the boy and already he was plaguing my mind. It was just to difficult to not think about how perfect he was and how when he marched backwards, his calf muscles were so prominent and how the sun made the sweat on his forehead glisten like a-
"EARTH TO FALLON!" I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at a slightly annoyed Kale. "You were in your little trance again." I mumbled a quick apology as I put my car into drive and pulled out of the parking lot. "What's got you so distracted, anyway?"
"A boy." I flat out told him.
"Oh... Oh! Oh." I wasn't looking at him but I could already picture the creeper smile he had on his face. "Care to elaborate?"
Elaborate? You mean talk about how Greek godly attractive he is?
"Nah." I replied. Don't get me wrong, Kale and I were best friends and we had talked about even more personal subjects, but I felt like I needed to keep this a topic that would only be discussed between Kara and me. "Am I taking you home or are we hanging at my place?"
"Actually, could you drive me to Violet's? I got this surprise for her since she was out sick today."
"Awh, you and you're wittle girwlfwiend!" I took my right hand off the steering wheel to poke at his side a few times. "Yeah, I got you."
When I dropped Kale off I waited in the driveway little while longer to see Violet open the door. When she saw him, her face lit up and she wrapped her arms around his neck as he wrapped his arms around her waist. I couldn't stop the pang of jealousy that made its way into my mind.
I want that. I want to feel what they're feeling for each other.
I sighed heavily after waving goodbye to the pair and began backing out of the driveway.

Kara practically pounced on me when Kale and I walked into school the next morning.
"My sweet little red velvet cake colored hair darling! Oh, do I have some news for you." She purred into my ear as we took our usual seats in the library. I noticed Kale's ears perk up as she said these words. I quickly gave her a confused look, prompting her to go on.
"Champ was taking about you this morning in the commons!" She squealed at me. My only response was an even more confused look.
"Champ? Who's that?" Kale asked.
Completely ignoring him, Kara went on.
"So, I was there paying my lunch fees and I stopped at Jenna's table, you know, the chick who always has the cutest shoes in Lit class? Anyway, as she was trying to tell me something of complete unimportance, I overheard that silky sweet voice if that real life Adonis. God, it was so hard not to miss it. It was like... Like drizzling honey over a fresh baked biscuit, like hot fudge being slowly poured over molten lava cake, like-"
"KARA!" I interrupted her rambling by shaking her shoulders. "What was he saying?"
She reopened her eyes and after that glazed over look went away she continued.
