"Katsuki! Wait up!" I puffed out running across the grass, my eyes focused on my blonde haired friend. He turned round to me grinning,
"You have to keep up Kia!" and he darted off again. I looked down at my pink sneakers, the laces had unraveled and I couldn't do them up so I slipped them off, wiggling my toes in the cool grass before running off to catch up to katsuki.
I reached the top of the hill and there he was sitting, legs crossed waiting for me. I sat down next to him before falling back looking up at the washed out sky, attempting to catch my breath.
"Why do you only have socks on?" I pushed myself up on my elbows to look at his quizzical face.
"The laces came undone"
"Then tie them again" he lifted one brow with a little smirk, knowing that I couldn't tie them up myself yet.
"Well, I just don't want to!" I sat up fully crossing my arms frowning at katsuki.
"Sure thing kia , that's why you took them off" he chuckled. I rolled my eyes and went back to looking up at the sky. There wasn't many clouds today , maybe a few scattered like cotton wool apart from that, clear blue skies. I loved days like this, warm but breezy. The perfect weather to just, hang out.
Me and bakugou never failed to miss a day like this, then again we was constantly outside playing together.
"I wanted to show you something" he swivelled his body to face me , a light smile graced his face. I sat up once more ,"well this better be good bakugou , I didn't run up this hill for nothing"
"it is , I promise!" I could see him buzzing with excitement, he couldn't stop grinning at me or stop jittering his foot.
He looked down at his own hands and I watched as sparks flew. We both looked at eachother in shock.
"KATSUKI! Your quirk! When? How?"
"The other day! It's so cool right? Wait til I show everyone in class!-" I smiled at him as he rambled on but I couldn't help think about my quirk. It hasn't developed yet and I knew it wasn't a big deal, everyone develops at different stages but it felt wrong. How come bakugou , my best friend got his quirk before me, a super cool quirk too. It wasn't fair, I wanted-
"It's okay Kiki, I'm sure you'll get yours soon!" He placed his hand on my knee and flashed me a comforting smile. I nodded blinking back tears. If bakugou said so, then it must be true. He's never been wrong about anything.
"Even if you don't , We're still gonna be best friends Kia , I promise! and we can get big and I'll go fight all the villains and you can help too!"
If only bakugou had kept that promise.
