I sit on the edge of my bed looking out over the city, watching the cars bustle around like ants. Sometimes I'll walk around, waiting and watching for even a hint of color, a sign that I've met my soul mate. I am always wondering if I will meet my soul mate before I am too old, but all I can do is wait.
Everyone says it's the most magical moment of their lives, when they brush up against someone, or touch a stranger and suddenly the world lights up in color, beautiful and bright. I just have to hope, I've heard of people who never meet their soul mate or don't meet them in till they are eighty, or ninety. Most people meet their soul mate before they are thirty, or forty.
I forgot to introduce myself! So my name is Eryn Clark, I have forest green eyes, and corresponding golden brown hair. I'm only 19 and I just graduated from early collage. My best friend for life found her soul mate when she was 16, she's the only person I know who has a soul mate of the same gender. Her and her girlfriend are both strong and athletic, they met at a tennis tournament and they had this super awkward moment when they looked each other in the eyes, gasped. Then locked lips, it was seriously like a scene out of some crazy romance movie.
she has been mostly the same afterward but she has this glow in her eyes that makes her look even better than before. I wish I could have met my soul mate so soon like her but it doesn't work that way, I just wish I doesn't feel so out of place wherever I go, I always feel like everyone is staring at me. Maybe they are.
All the guys I meet try to secretly touch my hand or somthing, "secretly" seeing if they are my soul mate. I overheard some guys conversation about how I was super hot and everyone wants to be my soul mate. When I heard that I started furiously blushing and had to cover my face so no one could see.
