The teacher ushers Jack and Tom into the principal's office, and I watch from inside, behind his eyes maybe? I haven't quite figured it out yet. Jack told me not to speak up again, but I have trouble with it, especially when Jack's getting his arse whooped. Tom's a bully, in grade 6. What's he doing picking on a grade 4 like Jack? And giving him a black eye of all things. What a loser. The principal says something that picks my attention. "Go on then. Hug it out." she says again. Jack turns to Tom, who is looking down at us with a scowl on his face. I hear Jack swallow and roll my eyes. I cringe for a moment as they're forced to hug, then step away from each other right after. The principal looks amused, and I'm tempted to stick out my tongue at the old bat. "You're both dismissed." she says, and we head back to our classes.

The bell rings and Jack gathers his bag. We walk out of the school, and I speak, a noise that must be annoying, but I have no other way to talk to him. Or anyone. "Jack."
"Not now." he whispers, we aren't out of earshot from the school yet.
"All I need is 5 minutes come on, just 5."
"No. You had your way two days ago."
"That's a long friggin time!" I whine, but he just speeds up his walking pace. "Jack. Please." he slows down, and I hear him sigh. "Go on then." I smile, and focus all my thoughts on moving. I wiggle my fingers, good, then loosen my arms, and after a moment, I can move freely. "Thank you." I murmur, smiling happily as turn on my heel and run back towards the school. If I'm correct, Tom will be with his older friends, smoking out back of the school. Gross. I turn the corner and, yes. There he is. One of the boys nudges him and laughs, pointing to who they think is Jack. Me. "Hey guys." I say, waving. They all chuckle, and Tom approaches me, dropping his cigarette and stomping it out in front of me. "What do you want?" the older boy asks.
"An eye for an eye no?" I ask him firmly, poking the skin just below my bruised right eye. Tom takes a second to realize what I'm saying, but it clicks, and he laughs. "I'd like to see you try." he sneers, and his friends all chortle along behind him. "Fine by me." I state, and throw my foot forwards so it collides with his crotch. His eyes go wide and he immediately moves screams and swings a fist at me, but I'm already gone, racing around the corner of the school and out of the courtyard.

Jack's laying on his bed, trying to sleep, and I'm in the back of his mind again like usual. "I'm sorry." I say quietly. He sighs, and rolls over. I shut up, trying to recreate how the stars looked in the blackness of Jack's closed eyes. "It's okay. It was cool."he says. "Thanks."
