I looked out the window my dad’s car as it drove on the highway but the speed did nothing to distract me from the things I had in mind. A brand new year and April Jamson was going back to Olympia high school.
Great!
Another year's worth of torture at the hands of idiots who did not know the difference between mass and weight, the kind of girls that fluffed their hairs and pushed their pom-poms at every hot guy that appeared anywhere near them.
Sigh.
Looking out the window at the grass being blown around by the gale force of the winds I could not help but think of myself as the grass, the innocent plant being pushed around by the wind. I swore softly to myself.
I was not made of grass. I was a human being and a smarter human being at that.
This year it was going to be different, this year I am going to get my act together and show those girls that I am not an innocent little girl who sits and wait for them to destroy her confidence.
Especially not after what happened this summer.
