My head was throbbing and my shoulder was stinging. My whole body felt weak, as if I had been running non-stop for hours. My eyes stung as they adjusted to the light. I looked around at my surroundings; I was in a bedroom. The door was to my right and I was lying in a bed, my shoes were just next to the door. There was a window to my left so I looked outside, the sun was blazing and there was no one to be found on the streets. Suddenly, footsteps. I lay on my side and pretended to sleep. The door creaked open.

I heard the footsteps come closer to me and a shiver went done my spine as a cold hand rested on my clothed shoulder. "So you are awake." A male voice spoke to me. There was no point in trying to convince the stranger that I was still sleeping, so I turned over to face him.

He had a smirk plastered on his face and he was holding a can of coke and a chocolate bar out to me. I took them and studied them carefully, sniffing to see if I could smell any poison coming from either of the things that I longed to put in my mouth. "I'm not gonna poison you or anything, it's just a normal can of coke and a normal chocolate bar."

"I don't even know you, how can I trust you?" I used my voice for the first time since I had woken up.

"Do you want to starve?" I let my stomach decide what to do and quickly downed the can of coke, I waited to see if anything would happen. I burped. The stranger laughed, "See? I didn't put anything in there." I quickly ate the chocolate bar and wiped my mouth with the back of my hand. A hand suddenly popped out in front of me, "My name's Aidan, what's yours?" I told him one of the only things I could remember.

"My name's Diane."

I quickly got out of bed and rolled my sleeves up, I walked towards the door.

"Where do you think you're going?" Aidan sounded hurt.

"To find out where and who I am."

He grabbed my wrist before I could open the door, his eyes widened as he looked at my shoulder.

"What the hell is this?"

"No wonder my shoulder stung." I thought out loud.

Aidan rolled his sleeve up to reveal his shoulder, the tattoo of a dragon surrounding three strange shapes was imprinted on it. I looked at my shoulder, I had the tattoo of a phoenix surrounding strange shapes bonded onto my skin.

Aidan's eyes stayed wide open in what seemed like shock, "... You're... like me..."
