A cat slowly stalked up the river bank, his dark gray pelt a silver spiral in the moonlight. His eyes flickered with fear as he listened intensely. Something was watching him. He had no proof, no evidence, yet he felt their presence. Maybe I am just imagining it, he thought. Maybe it is safe... Just as he stepped into the clearing, a twig snapped and he dashed into the bramble. He knows, the cat thought. And I know, too. But I don't want to know. I want to forget... The wind howled loudly, and at last he spoke. "I know you are there," he hissed. His eyes filled with fear, yet his voice was filled it determination. No one answered. "Stop hiding. There is no point," he growled. Nothing answered but the loud wind that hurt his ears. Finally, a cat stepped out of some bushes. "DeadHeart! Is that you?" The stranger asked. No wait, it wasn't a stranger...
DeadHeart nodded. "What do you want, FeatherFur?" He asked. FeatherFur fur shivered. "I found this cat... Maybe you could heal him?" FeatherFur asked. DeadHeart tilted his head. "So you want me to help a random cat you found in the woods? Right now? I am being tracked down! I don't have time for that!" DeadHeart hissed. FeatherFur nodded. "I understand, DeadHeart," and he began to walk off. DeadHeart watched him leave, the wind still howling in his ears. "Wait! I'll help!" He finally cried out. Then, he rushed off with the wind behind him. If this is the cat the prophecies stated, then I can rule the forest! And this time, I will succeed...
