Angie

I am truthfully blessed by the life of Patrick Perkins. Dang! I totally forgot my problems... for a while.

The guard opened the gates for me. "Thank you Mr. Hoppins and please don't tell Dad or anyone that I'm back" He immediately nod and led me to the golf cart.

"I'll drive myself there. Thanks." I smiled and buckled my seatbelt. "Will you be alright dear?" Mr. Hoppins asked. And I gave him my best smile. "Alright, just slow down." He smiled back and I drove off. This is the reason why I love Mr. Hoppins, he's been serving our family for 23 years. And he's the head of the guards here and the nicest person ever!

I parked the cart near the fountain and walked to patio when suddenly the door opened. And I looked at the person who opened it.

"We need to talk." Dad's serious voice said and I just looked away.

I can't talk to him right now. These are far too fresh for me. I'm still in pain. Can't he see these?

I stormed inside the house but Dad grabbed my arm and led me to his Victorian office.

"Sit." He ordered as he points to his black leather chair. I followed his order because I don't want him to yell at me. I've had enough for tonight.

I can feel the heavy tension between us and it's suffocating me.

"Ange..." Dad's voice softened and I was still avoiding his eye contact. "Honey, please look at Daddy." He pleaded. I felt hot tears forming in my eyes and I can't swallow the hardness in my throat. "Honey..." he tipped my chin and my eyes met his.

"I'm so sorry if this was all too sudden for you." He said. "But I want you to know that she makes me happy. I love her and she loves me too." He added.

I shook my head and tried to pull my cry. "No..." But I failed. Tears flowed down on my cheeks. "I'm sorry Daddy. I can't replace Mom." I pushed his hand away from me and run away for my room.

When I reached my room, I automatically locked the door. I breathe deeply and let go the cry. I felt myself shaking and sliding. I sat behind the door and hugged my knees and cry.

"No, you had enough tears Ange. Stop it." I scolded myself and breathe deeply. I stood up from the floor and I was about to walk for a shower when I heard a knock from my door.

"Ma'am Angie, you left your bag downstairs." A woman with a strange accent said behind my door. I opened it and found a petite, golden-brown skin, asianic girl who's in here mid 30s. "Here it is Ma'am." She smiled.

I sniffed and took the bag from her hands. "Are you new here? I've never seen you here before." I asked as I hold my bag to my chest.

"Yes Ma'am. Allow me to introduce myself." She smiled. "I am Enelyn Badillo but you can call me 'Manang Neneng'. I am from Philippines." I smiled at her cuteness and confidence.

"Really? Wow. You came too far from here." I'm truly amazed. Philippines is way too far from California. "Of course Ma'am. Well, I have too cause if I don't. My family will suffer from hunger." She shrug and I nod. Well, it's true. They can risk everything for there children.

Then why can't Dad risk his happiness for me? Us?

"Ma'am!" Manang Neneng snapped. "Oh, I'm sorry. What is it again?" I asked again as I rub my temples. "Nevermind Ma'am. You look tired. Do you want me to give a massage? You know, I used to work in a spa-salon." She shared. A massage is not that bad. "Sure." I opened the door widely and she entered.

After taking my long bath, I wore my silky night dress and laid flat on my bed. "Face your bed Ma'am." Manang Neneng requested and I did follow. She applied something hot on my back which smelled like eucalyptus and she start pressing her hand, hardly on my back which felt... relieving.

"Oh my gosh..." I moaned as her fingers ran through my spine and massage. "You are really good Manang Neneng." I complimented and suddenly, I felt my eyes getting heavy until I fell asleep.

Patrick

As I arrived home, I felt myself jumping inside my body. I felt happy and relieved. The thought of tonight's event made me smile and happy.

Was it because of Angie?

I felt Shivers run through my spine as I think of those events. I have hugged her trice this day. I kissed her once and she kissed me back.

"And where did you eat your dinner?" A thick voice brought me back to my presence. I looked at the door and saw Mom with her hands on her hips.

"Uhmmm, outside?" I walked towards her and gave her a peck on the cheek. "Didn't I told you to eat with Pete?" She asked again and I hugged her tight and she's not hugging me back. "Don't you fool me with your hugs young man." She scolded yet hugged me back.

We both pulled away when she asked and smiled, "Did you eat already?" I nod. "Well, let's get you inside and I'll talk to you and Pete." She patted my back and pushed me inside the house.

We enter the house and I saw Pete on the couch with his iPad on his lap. I sat beside him pulled his head. "I thought you didn't told Mom that I'm not eating dinner here?" I whispered-shouted. "I didn't." He shrugged. "She just found out that your car isn't here."

"He didn't say anything Patrick." Mom chimed in and placed her cup of tea on the coffee table. She sits on the black chair which is in front of us and adjust herself.

"Okay..." She cleared her throat and closed her eyes for a moment and spoke. "I think you already knew about my relationship status right?"

Me and Pete nodded at the same time.

"Well, I want you boys to meet him." She grinned. I felt my jaw drop and I know that Pete is fine since he already met him. "But it'll be soon. So that you boys can prepare. Especially you Patrick." She pointed and smiled.

"That's all. And I know that both of you still have classes. Now, give me a goodnight kiss." She ordered. "Aren't you suppose to do that to your babies Mom?" Pete whined like a baby and I just laugh and slap the back of his head slightly.

Mom gave me a glare and spank my hand. "That's for slapping Petey's head." Pete and I let go a laugh and kissed her. "That's my boys." She grinned. "Night Mom." We both said in unison and walked upstairs.

Am I really ready for Mom to have a relationship?

I am still bothered of this Ben that Mom's been dating. A moment later, I felt my phone vibrated. I looked at my screen phone and saw Dad's calling ID

M: Dad?

D: Son! How you've been?

M: I'm good Dad. (liar)

D: I've been trying to call Pete but he wasn't answering.

M: He always left his phone in his bag or sometimes in his room.

D: Oh well, I called because I'm visiting there. Tell your Mom, that I'll sleep there. Please do convince her.

M: *laugh* You sound like a teenager who's been abandoned on courting a teenage girl Dad. *laugh*

D: If that's how you see it then fine. But convince her, okay?

M: Got it.

D: Okay, bet your tired already. I'll hang up. Kissed your Mom for me. Love you son.

M: Love you too Dad.

I hang up and take my shirt off and fell flat on my bed. "Dad's still hoping to be with Mom. And I am too."
