Can I leave?
This thought pervaded my mind as I sat bored in calculus, listlessly listening to the teacher drone on and on about a topic I know I will never understand. Giving up on any hope of actually comprehending the lesson, I began to doodle on my notebook. Already tiny stars and miniature ufo's dotted the page as I started my next masterpiece: a crudely drawn alien.
While I was putting the finishing touches on the antenna, the bell rang signaling the end of the period as well as the end of the school day. Quickly, I shoved my notebook and dashed out of class, vaguely hearing something about homework pages. Whatever, I'll just ask someone about it later. I have got to get out of this hell hole.
After a short walk, I arrived home. I shot a quick hello to my father in the kitchen and dashed up to my room, violently discarding my backpack onto the floor. As soon as I shut the door, I pounced onto my bed, feeling instant euphoria and relief as I sank into the soft mattress and blankets. Enveloped in the comforting sensation of my comforter, I soon drifted off to sleep...
