Old Blade was once a knight centuries ago from the days of yore, the kingdom of which he served experimented on him using an ancient, accursed blasphemy known as the undead curse. It was an ancient power from a time before that had been discovered a...
On a bright moonlit night, Rion and his family ate by the log fire which emanated a comforting warmth. "Grandfather...grandfather?" Angelica asked, wanting her grandfather's attention. -"Hmm? Oh sorry I was just admiring the wonderful family I have. It's not often I get to spend my time doing something peaceful much less with family".- "Must you have to leave so soon?" One of my great-grandchildren asked. -"Yes unfortunately I do, things have been horrible in Yharnam as of late and I must join in to help the other hunters with the hunt. but do not worry your grandpa will be fine." Rion said in a somewhat insincere tone. "Please don't do anything too brash like you usually do," Angellica said worryingly. "Don't worry about me I'll be fine, but thank you for your concern." Rion breathed a sigh of relief for in the morning he may never see his family again.
Rion woke up early to leave a note he had written last night for his family on top of his pillow, then afterward he went to say goodbye to his family and then walked his way to the carriage at the end of town. "Hello, sir how much for a ride to Yharnam?"- "Yharnam?!" The man coughed out. "Why in blazes would you want to go there?" Right after the older man said that he looked into Rions large, cold white eyes, he had a terrified expression on his face and didn't know what to say.- "For the hunt, of course." Rion's gaze became manic. "Anyway, how much?"- " Um 25 coins."- "What? Well, that's oddly expensive."- "Yharnam is a dangerous place nowadays, I'd be putting me life in danger." Rion sighed in annoyance.- "Okay fine, here."- "Ah thank you." The man said.
- "Alright now get in" Some hours later as night was approaching.- "I'm not meaning to pry but you are a hunter?" - "Yes, yes I am." Rion said with a chuckle, glad that the silence had been broken. "I'm on my way to join the next hunt." "So why did you leave yharnam for that quaint little town only to come back eh?"-"Family, of course, the only thing I have left, well that and the hunters. Have you heard anything about Yharnam from travelers?" The man was silent for a few agonizing seconds.- "Nothing good to say the least." Rion had a worried feeling.- "Like what?"- "Well from the rumors I've heard, it seems that the beast plague has taken over the city." Rions eyes widened in disbelief.- "No! That's impossible, such a thing could not happen so quickly, not now."- "Well they are just rumors after all but who knows really." Rion slumped back down to brood over what he had heard as it most certainly was not a rumor.
Some time had passed on the long silent journey, it was not before long now until a veteran hunter will tread old hunting grounds. "Ah, here we are, safe and sound."- "Thank you for the... mostly comfortable ride, I never got your name?" -"Timothy..timothy charan."-"Ah, well good luck and safe travels Timothy... you'll need it." As Rion approached the outer wall of the city he could see smoke rising up from all ends of the city, he let out a worried sigh and knew that this was going to be a hunt unlike any other. Rion entered the city cautiously observing his surroundings, the buildings and homes were either barred or abandoned. "Where has everyone gone?" Rion said to himself, he walked down the cobblestone road looking for anyone who wasn't torn apart or was a beast. He felt as if he was being watched, he could feel hungry eyes watching him from somewhere but was not sure.
Roof shingles fell onto the ground next to Rion, he was certain now that there was someone or something here, then he heard several more loud pounding footsteps approaching him. Beasts began poking out from either the shadows or dropping down from the roofs, he was damn near surrounded. Rion held both his silver sword and his long pistol prepared to fight to the grizzly end, the were beasts covered in rough patches of blood-matted fur and their eyes glowed white like the moon. The beasts snarled with their large sharp teeth and aggressively approached Rion. The beasts surrounded him around a well and came ever closer, then an impatient beast came from the side and swiped its razor-sharp claws at Rion, but before it could finish its swing Rion fired his pistol at the beast staggering it. With a flick of the wrist, he decapitated the beast, its blood sprayed unto the other beasts like a crimson geyser, the beasts licked the blood off their faces and started charging forward. "Dammit, I've never been so surrounded by beasts so quickly gotta think quick." As he finished his thought, a beast leaped from behind and grabbed Rion and pinned him to the ground, and bit him on the shoulder, luckily his armor was made of particularly strong steel and the beast broke some of its teeth trying to bite him. Rion shoved his pistol in the beast's mouth and fired. Blood, bone, brain, and a sickly splat were all that could be heard and seen.
Rion pushed the corpse off him and fought the beasts with a beast-like fury of his own. The dance of death was one Rion tried to avoid but deep down loved so much, he felt himself giving in to the blood lust but held just enough composure to prevent himself from giving in, soon enough there was only 1 beast left out of a dozen or so, Rion knew just the weapon to use for this one last beast. Rion pulled a saw cleaver from his back and released it, the weapon making its oh-so-satisfying sound as it transformed. The beast looked at Rion almost unsure as to what to do. Rion stared at the beast with blood-crazed eyes, taunting the beast to attack him and it sure did, the beast swung a combo of attacks at Rion but since beasts lack any elegance with their movements, they are easy to sidestep.
Rion then from behind swung his saw blade into the beast slicing it diagonally with the blade getting stuck in the middle, the crunching and squishing sound it made was music to his ears. To Rion, fighting was much like sex but better. The fluids of his foes splashed and gushed everywhere, covering him. The feeling exhilarated him, it was a feeling unlike any other. Rion then pulled the blade from the beast, its corpse fell heavily onto the ground. After the brief but arduous battle, Rion looked upon the corpses of the beasts he had hunted with a manic smile, he took out a pipe and put a strange herb in it, lit it, and then with a deep breath inhaled the smoke. "Ahh much better," Rion said as he exhaled the smoke, this special herb was grown to calm down hunters if they were to ever almost succumb to blood drunkenness, Rion was still a while away from the lecture building so now he must make a long trek through a burning beast infested city if he is to find what he is looking for.
