graduation letter for my best friend

walking through the room, i could see various bright faces staring back at me. all of them holding a different instrument; piano, guitar, bass, mic and ukulele. smiles adorned their faces as I managed to return their smiles and sit down on a table, my best friend next to me.
"everyone, we have someone new in music box."
waving, I let out a nervous smile on my face as, one by one, people smiled back and introduced themselves.
but my eyes landed on the one person I would depend on for the rest of my high school years.
fast forward to a year later. recently coming back to school after being absent.
new haircut. new mood. new me.
and I saw the same person again.
his smile would brighten my day. leave me with a smile on mine.
his eyes sparkled with passion as he played every instrument that he saw.
his jokes made me laugh.
his hugs made me smile.
and now, he's graduating.
oh, how the years go by.
the memories.
the laughter.
the lunch breaks we took together.
the talks we had.
you were my shoulder and I was yours.
and now you're gone, and I can't help but hang onto the memories we shared.
thank you for two whole years of friendship.
we have both grown over the years.
sharing passions and dislikes,
laughter and happiness,
confessions and compliments.
from the advice you gave me during my bad days,
to the shoulder I lent you when we talked about your future.
thank you for two years of a well-knit friendship.
thank you for your advice,
your laughs,
smiles,
countless hours we spent practicing and playing music,
for the love of music I found through our friendship,
and the many conversations we shared.
I hope you never forget,
that I will always be here for you.
through the good and the bad,
the pretty and the ugly,
the strengths and challenges,
and the hardest parts of life.
congratulations!
I hope this new step for you is filled with hugs and smiles,
don't ever forget your second family.
