The cold water
I was sitting next to a lake, by my house. My head maid came running up to me.
"Lady Kiyomi!!! Lady Kiyomi!! Your mother is calling for you! She has a present for you." My head maid Momo said.
"I understand Momo, I'll be inside in a minute." I got up and started to walk to the house. I met my mother by the back door, and she was holding a small box. She handed it to me without saying anything and waited patiently for me to open it. As I did, I saw a ring that sparkled like the starry night.
"My precious daughter, this is the ring that has been passed down for generations between my family. I want you to have it. Please take good care of it..." My mother said. She slowly backed away and went into the house. I took the ring out of the cushiony padding and put it on. It fit perfectly.
The next morning, after eating breakfast I headed back to that lake. I sat there and just stared at the water. Every single morning, it always had this certain glow to it. I sat there for hours upon hours just watching that glow slowly turn to a mist. After about 1 hour a saw something shimmer out of the corner of my eyes. It caught me off guard and had me intrigued. I followed the shimmering light into a cave full of shining gems. Each gem reflected the light off of another. I looked into a crystal and saw my mother dead, with a gun shot in her side. I was holding her and crying, in fact I was sobbing. Everything else was blurry then the image faded as Momo went to the lake and called for me. I ran back outside and went to her.
"Lady Kiyomi! There is a guest here for you. Please change into your formal clothes then come to the living room" Momo said.
"Ok. I will be down in a minute. Did they give you their name?"
"No they did not. They said you should know them though."
"Ok. Give them a refreshment as they wait for me."
"Yes Lady Kiyomi." Momo walked back inside, and gave the man a drink.
I walked upstairs and changed into my formal dress then came back downstairs. As soon as I saw this mans face, I fell to the floor and felt a pain in my side. I looked down and saw a faint image of my dead mother, then I looked at him once again. I saw the gun in his pocket and realized who he was.
"You're going to kill my mother."
