It was a fine morning. I've dreamt something that might actually come true someday. I'm not that trying too much but I have my talent and I know it. My family recognized it when I was ten. And since that day I've been trying hard not to fail a single time in order to achieve my dream which is to have my own sweetshop someday.
It is a fine morning indeed. The leaves started falling, winter is coming any day soon. The cool breeze gently touches the skin and helps refresh the minds.
There are many houses built side by side. Not all the neighborhood knew each other but not all seems to be nice. At the edge of that street is where a new member of the neighborhood arrived with their white SUV van along the moving truck. My family just moved in that day into that last slot of for sale house and lot. I agreed since my new school is just a five-minute walk from our new house.
I'm the very first person that got out of the van. I can't help it. I'm just too excited and nervous about all that new school, new friends, new uniforms and of course, my new room!!
I stood in front of our NEW HOUSE!! Gosh, it is gorgeous. It's even better than our old house back at the Sidleystown.
"Wow," The only word that came out from my mouth. I'm just speechless. My mom and dad got off the car and took out the baggage from the trunk at the back of the van.
"Mom, Dad! This house is perfect!" There I said it. My overflowing thoughts finally came out.
I heard my mom chuckled. "Do you like it that much?"
I ran to them jumping with joy. "Uh-huh! I want to live here forever." Ends with a chuckle.
"Oh please. What are you a grade schooler? Stop it, will you?" Said my little brother which is the complete opposite of cheerful and friendly. The only person who showed unhappiness about moving here in the city. I feel bad about what he is feeling right now but it can't be helped. We're moving in anyway.
"Oh, right? Still sulking over it, huh? Whose the real grade schooler here anyway, hm?" I said with my crossed arms. "Whatever! Just try not to overreact on this damn thing." He said putting his headphone back.
I was shocked. My jaws dropped. "How dare you call the house a " damn thing"?" I walked towards him sitting comfy inside the van. "Hey, aren't you getting out?" I asked as I leaned on the van. "Forget it!" He said without looking at me and just focussing on his PSP. "Yeah, right. Forget it and I'll take all the fun to look around." I said with my hands on my waist. "Uh-huh, sure. Only kids think like you do, anyway!" He said. I was really pissed off when he does that to me. Well, yeah, I act like I have eight grader syndrome but it doesn't matter. "You brat..." I said and raised my hand ready to give him a hard knock on the head. "Mom, Dad!" He whines as he run outside the van and went behind our parents back. "What the...? Joon, stop pulling pranks!" Said Mom holding a box while my little brother, Joon, hides at her back. "Ha! Scaredy cat finally got out of the van! You coward." I said proudly. My dad gave me a knock on my head. "Oww! Daddy! What for?!" I said in pain as I caressed my hair. I saw Joon laughed. "Hey, don't laugh at me, you gamer!" I said while I pointed my closed fist at him. "Mom." He said. "Carmen, you're not a kid anymore. Stop picking on your brother and help us move out our luggage." Mom said and went inside the house. "But he started it!" I said. "Enough, Carmen!" Dad said. "Daddy?!"
I turned around to face him and I just saw the horror on his face. Dad's words are most absolute. No one in the family argues with his decisions except Mom, of course. "Okay, I heard you!" I replied and went to get my luggage. Joon stuck out his tongue as I passed by. "You!" I said. "Guys knock it off. Carmen, go to your room and help mom unpack other things." Said Dad as he pushed me through the door. I even heard Joon laughing again! "Uh-uh. You too, young man. Stop looking at those and do the same." He said and took off Joon's headphones.
Joon sighed hard and groaned. "Fine!" He said as he followed Dad to the van. I saw him sighed as Dad gave him his bagpack. "Go check your room upstairs and I'll deal with the guys moving our furnitures."
"Sure." He said in a low tone. "Hey, buddy, cheer up! Don't worry you'll get used to it. Just try not to provoke your sister sometimes, alright?" He said as he tap Joon's shoulders. Joon nodded. "Okay, go inside now."
"Okay!" He replied and walks inside.
