I had eczema under both my eyes it was hell, it hurt so much, it caused discoloration and stretched out skin. When I went to school, of course, I got some comments that are messed up to ask like, and by the way yes I was actually asked these questions "whats, wrong with your face?" "Are you okay, you don't look good?" and my ALL time favorite, "I bet you don't sleep because you are always watching anime."
Anyways as the weeks would go by, and around my mouth started to appear the same thing so as soon as it showed up, we found a dermatologist. The first time I went to see him he said he didn't know what it was so we scheduled another one in a couple of weeks. That time I went with my mom, and I went with her every time after that. The third time we went he finally told me it was eczema, a couple of times later he said "I read an article on how melatonin can reduce eczema" so my mom responded with "yea, okay I guess we could try that" "exactly, and its not like we've got anything to lose" and with that comment my mom became furious but kept cool until we left, as soon as we got in to the car she was so mad "who the hell does he think he is! of course, we have something to lose, my daughters face! wtf" and she kept going on and that reaction almost made me want to cry and I don't know why.so the next appointment I had with him he said "she might have to deal with this for the rest of her life," and my mom started to cry. "I'm guessing that whenever she cries it makes you cry as well" I answered yes. Then a little while later he out of nowhere asked "I'm guessing that dads, out of the picture?" and both my mom and I looked at him "of course he is, he brought her here the first time!"
My mouth would blister and bleed and I was always so embarrassed to go to school I barely wanted to get out of bed, which made me cry but it hurt so much to cry. I couldn't and still can't eat spicy food because it will make my mouth feel like its on fire.
So about a year goes by and its the last week of school and we decide to get a new dermatologist and he knew instantly what it was and prescribed me this cream that he said would work overnight, which it did but, I didn't get the cream till the last Friday.
I guess I didn't exactly tell you how I dealt with it but, to put it in fewer words, I walked right in to the fire and faced it head on, but you don't have to be strong to do that you just have to put your mind to it, and you will.
